Reviews for "Nobody Said It Was Easy"

For the control scheme, might be a good idea to put the FG controls in the game instructions, because ctrl+space does some very unhelpful things on a computer with certain non-English language input methods enabled.

It's also annoying that people clamor "8-bit!" at this sort of thing, because this is clearly pre-NES-era style. Atari 2600, that sort of thing; fewer than eight bits. Not that that's a strike against the game; it's just frustrating that people don't know that words have meanings sometimes.

I liked the game, at least what I played of it--three worlds. I wanted to skip two worlds and jump to 6, and I almost got all the stars to do it in the first three sections, but for the life of me I cannot figure out how one is supposed to get that third star in Jack And Jill. Oy.

Simple but clever mechanic.

I think you've hit on something kind of brilliant with the olde timey piano music. Lends a feeling of slapstick to a challenge I'd normally just find frustrating.

Nice little game! Good level of difficulty for quick respawns

thumbs up if u kept singing Coldplay's song while playing this. The game was quite challenging!! actually quite fun being so simple!

Wow, what a game. At first I thought it would be a short gimmicky game, but the 100 levels were all unique and thoughtful, and you wind up getting very skilled at the game as you go. The progression is excellent; going back to the first few worlds after beating world 9 felt like child's play, just as it should. The ending was better than I expected, and made the 20-30 minutes I spent on the last level quite worth it. I'll probably even come back another day and grab all the stars.

I did run into a few minor issues: 1) The mechanics need some work. Sometimes my character would keep running a second or two even after I let go of the button (and no, I'm not referring to the ice stages.) Similarly, jumps would register very late... too late. Also, If I push the jump and run buttons at the same time, usually only one will happen. 2) You already mentioned the glitch with the evil clones, but it seems that occurs on any stage that has clones. 3) Another glitch where if you die the same time you are filling in the block outlines, the block will fill on the next run. This especially affected me on Stage 10-5, Hail Raiser, where an icicle would hit me the same time I would be touching block outlines. In the next run, I'd have a headstart!

Thanks for making a game that was hard *AND* beatable. These are some of the best level designs I've seen on a two-button game. I hope to see more from you soon.
