Reviews for "Genesis"

That was it?!....awww I loved those little cubes...

I think the message was pretty simple actually

You were born kind of like Adam, and you were given an infinite world to do as you pleased except for the one tiny black dot that represents the fruit of knowledge/sin. You and the pink square, Eve, had eaten the fruit so when you both became one(the blocks combining) you had children, who were corrupted by sin when you encountered the dot again. You were so full of sin that you kept getting more and more sinful.

God said he forgave you, but took you out of this world

Besides that, I really enjoyed this game! I love the music and simplicity to it. Being a religious person myself, the message was very clear from the start. Great job!

Very lovely game, between the music and simplistic style made me feel very calm. I've always been a sucker for symbolism and metaphors! I like being allowed to figure things out on my own, ya know? In this game, I like the illustration on how knowledge can change you. I feel like it's a message saying that we are already corrupt upon birth because Adam and Eve bit into the Fruit of Knowledge. It's easy to give into greed and aching curiosity, after all. I'm not all that religious so some of my interpretations of this may be a bit off, haha XD nice work!

If someone is looking to keep themselves occupied for five minutes or so, this is a nice little game. I agree with others in that the strongest part of this game is the atmosphere, help set by God's voice at the beginning and end, as well as the calming music. God could have spoken more throughout the experience, I suppose, such as giving players hints as to what their actions have really accomplished. Otherwise I'm a square that's creating other squares, and sometimes even more squares to eat those squares. Maybe if God came in the middle and "blamed" the player for creating the concept of war (or something along those lines) it would have made for a deeper experience. In this format, however, I suppose players can make this game mean whatever they want it to. Nicely done.

Those are some great points; the game definitely could have featured more prominent storytelling. If I do another project like this, what other aspects would everyone like to see more of?

Very interesting and serene... But I have 1 MASSIVE problem with it that knocked 1.5 stars off... The gameplay is REALLY tedious... I would've been disappointed if it was shorter but I'd like it more... Don't make it tedious to make it a bit longer...
