Reviews for "Mark Of Darkness"

The loading screen class selector is completly random, I chose everything possable to be a warrior and a assasin and they I got random classes. kinda defeats the purpose of choosing your play style -_-

A breath of fresh air, it has a nice old school gaming feel, the music fits superbly with the game and each of the areas you have applied it too. The combat system is nice. I'v been getting bored with these 3D new games all the times and needed something different, definitely this hit the spot.

This was a rather good game, although in my opinion the skills, items and map could use a little bit of enlargement, but all in all this game deserves a 5/5 for having a seemingly well thought out and tested level advancement system, combat mechanics and graphics. while there were some minor bugs i experienced, there was nothing too major, hence the 5/5.

never loading at dark forest ------> mountain of arath

This game was surprisingly great !
at first I thought it was just an advertisement to promote other online games but it happened to be a short but complete adventure.

The gameplay was a little weird at first but once you get the hang of it the whole game becomes a lot funnier. (on a side note, I also had the bug of the archer at the beginning of the first quest)

However the stats system left me a little puzzled. I followed my warrior instinct and kept to strength and stamina with a few wisdom when needed, but I quickly realized that the other stats where maxed up by the equipment anyway. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this is a bad thing, it's just a little confusing for me to have a warrior with 107% critical hit rate.

During the whole game I felt like the difficulty was kept pretty low. that could be seen like a flaw but I personally enjoyed feeling powerful all along the game. although I would have like a few peaks of difficulty here and there with a few bosses.

This leads me to a point I didn't like in the game. some times, especially on the few last quests, I got really bored. the fact that I'm too powerful and that most of the missions are "kill X enemies" creates a monotony in the game. the mission where I had to collect 20 golem dusts on all three types of golems plus the fact that they don't always drop the dust made that particular mission REALLY boring. However, the game balances that by being really rewarding. if that missions demands time and patience, it gives access to one of the most (if not THE most) powerful armor in the game so it is still worth the time to get through all that.

the art style is great...as long as it's not moving. while the whole game looks incredible, the characters seems really off, lacks dynamic and details, except for some really, really cool armors like the devil one. I went evil just to get that awesome armor.

The musics are good and appropriate, but the fighting music gets so quickly boring that I ended up putting my own music after one hour in the game.

having the mods fighting you after you throw the first hit is a great idea in my opinion. if they attacked the player automatically I'm pretty sure it would be unplayable because of the constant respawn.
my point being that when playing I felt that you, the developers, watched every details to make sure the game was nothing but a fun time. Even if the game has flaws, it's always counter-balanced with something great.

This game deserves a 5/5 although it is not flawless and still seems bugged for some people. (hence the 4,5)
