Reviews for "Mark Of Darkness"

i like the game but the question in the start is retarded chose agile speed atack at behind silent steep do close combat and the outcome archer NAIL IT D:

Let me start by saying the art is great. Sadly, I feel that is the only thing I can honestly compliment though. The game felt like it had so much potential, but a few design choices turned this game from a solid 5 to a generous 3.

First off, the rather pointless skill trees are a major turn off. Only 7 skills organized into 2 trees? Whats the point? So far as I can tell, there wasn't one, other than to level lock some skills.

Secondly, the blocking system only serves one purpose past about 10% through the game: making fights last far longer than they should. I swear, 50% of my time was spent standing ready with a skill ready to go only for the enemy to stand there blocking for 3-5 seconds. That easily tripled the time any given battle should have taken. Everything past the orc camp was a massive test of patience, with the best gear available and 100% crit chance and enough Pierce trivialize almost all armor.

Third, related to the above, enemies were nothing but bags of meat. They had no special skills other than the rare lunge attack or multi-hitter. Even then, that was only a couple of bosses in the 2nd half of the game. Every thing else just stood there taking the hits or wasting my time by blocking.

Fourth, there was simply no real story. Nothing you did was related to anything else, it seemed like. Hell, when I beat what seemed like the final boss, NOPE, "Go kill 20 wolves and then one big wolf". Even after defeating the darkness, all I got was a permanent companion... past the point where there were any quests to go on. No game over screen. No "Good Job Player" moment. Nothing. No pay off for the 5 hours this game took to play, what so ever.

Fifth, if you MUST have moving NPC's, at least tell the player where the moved. For heavens sake, I can not tell you how annoying it was to go all the way back to the watchtower only for neither Light nor Dark to be there and then run all the way back to where I was to see if I some how missed them. Yet another waste of time feature.

Finally, what is with the nickle and diming? I understand wanting to make a little money off of your game, but what an awful way you chose to do it. Lotto and keys? Good lord. Add some content then put up a pay wall if that is what you want to do. Better yet, plan out some side quests from the start and charge people $10 to play them. At the games currently level of quality, I wouldn't personally pay for any of it, but that is the sort of lure that looks most attractive to people. Additional gameplay for a game you enjoy is far more tantalizing than a mere chance to get some better gear.

I can't believe some of you people think this is 'new' and 'exciting' when it's literally a 2D version of Diablo 3! I have it on e Battle.net and the HUD on the bottom is exactly the same! Not to mention the walking animation is weird, and the beginning quiz is unnecessary. The art makes it look like it's the another great MMO but it's not! Half a star for very few new content. [sorry :c]

Game doesn't load. I tried refreshing. Might have give half a star for the quiz if it did give warrior no matter what answers I picked.

Stuck on wave one at the orc camp. There is a wood barrier in the way and no quests to get around it.
