Reviews for "Seven Days Without Rain"

THIS IS JUST SO HARD! O I didn't even make it close to the end before I raged!

When I was younger I use to play games with the sole purpose of beating the game. I remember spending hours, then days, playing games like Karnov for the NES before finally beating the game, only to be disappointed with the ending, and having no sense of accomplishment afterwards. Granted it's a video game, and on my deathbed I won't yell out "I beat Super Mario Bros 1-3 in one day" with my last breath, but people still invest a lot of time in games, and long gone are the days of beating games for the sake of winning.

I will commend you on the fact that the interaction with objects and people was good. I liked the fact that any object that had some importance would have the pop-up below the activity which I could activate by clicking. The graphics were simple, but some of the old games like Contra were just as basic, so you don't lose any points in my book for keeping it simple.

The biggest issue I had with this game is that it was so linear, and had so little depth, that it just made for a tedious 10 minutes of game play. The lock to the treasure chest cabinet was just barely scraping interesting the first time, but each day it just became more of a nuisance. If there was some kind of metaphor associated to the cabinet I missed it, if there was some kind of deep 2001 A Space Odyssey themes going on, they were also missed. As is, the entire game came across as a jumble of humdrum events where you slide your mouse around the screen for no real purpose other to than to beat the game. As stated before those days are gone due to the fact there are so many games out there where those basic attributes are met that it's difficult to play something that does not.

I applaud your efforts though, and hope something more cohesive will spawn from this game. Thanks for the time-killer.

Boy is it hard to give candy to children

there isn't any atmosphere in the piece, and the music is a bit... eh. bit boring.

what is the point of this game? You unlock a cabinet and give items to people. it needs more action or a story.
