Reviews for "Dead Zed 2"

pretty sweet game i like it :D the "realistic"gpx make it very nostalgic haha

i hope this game gets a dead zed 3 game

A vast improvement over the first game. Still heavily reliant on a malevolent RNG when it comes to your search parties, though. I couldn't believe how many times the game had a team come back empty-handed and minus a member or two. Even more so in this game, where I consistently had a team with a survival chance of around 73%, and an 80% chance of finding things or people. Even when my teams DID succeed, it regularly came with losses.

And speaking of losses, it's pretty difficult to keep your group's morale high. With how often the game liked to kill off the people I assigned to scavenge, I was getting regular losses of 30 or 60 morale, and finding supplies, weapons, and other survivors didn't raise it enough in turn, to the point where I ended up with a grand, hefty total of 46 morale at the end of Day 40. With the game offering the player no means of raising it outside of finding things, it is reduced to a Luck Based Mission.

After a few restarts due to the RNG deciding to kill my entire search team early on, I finally lucked out enough to get all the weapons and upgrades and finish the game. And I came up with a few tips:

1. At the beginning of the game, the best weapon set-up will be the Bow as your primary and the Pistol as your secondary. The game should give you the Bow after your first day or two. It's a pretty good choice at this point in the game, since the zombies are still weak and slow. Great accuracy with a nice firing rate. Players more skilled than I will probably even be using it later into the game. Save the pistol for when zombies start getting close to the barrier. You won't be John Wicking with it, but it's still WAY more accurate up close. Which leads me to my second point...

2. For some reason, automatic weapons are absolute garbage at anything other than short range. Even the Steyr Aug, which comes with a scope. That is, unless you're sticking to semi-auto, at which case, you're better off using the hunting rifles, especially after you have an assistant assigned.

Once you acquire them, the set-up I recommend through to the endgame (and beyond) is the Remington rifle as your primary, and the PKM as your secondary. Don't let yourself be lured in by the M249's offer of greater accuracy, lesser recoil, and 200 round magazine. It's actually got a bigger kick than PKM, and you'll be lucky if you hit the broad side of a barn. Which leads me to point #3...

3. Never. EVER. Go full-auto. EVER. Every automatic weapon in this game, without exception, kicks like a mule at full-auto. You'll just be wasting ammo. Stick to short bursts. You can go a LITTLE crazy when the zombies are all bunched up, especially at close range (where automatic weapons work best in this game), but always keep your fire in bursts.

4. Get an assistant as soon as you can. They reload your weapons fast, faster than you can on your own, at least with some weapons. I know they reload the machine guns a lot faster than you can. After I assigned my assistant, I never reloaded a weapon myself ever again outside of a few accidents. They can be life savers.

5. For the mid-game, the Springfield and AK-74 is a good combo, especially when you have an assistant. I've actually found the AK-74 to be the most accurate of all the automatics, and only switched to the PKM because of the drastically larger magazine. The PKM kicks harder, but if you're firing in bursts like I recommended, you'll be getting a lot more kills in a shorter time, still. You'll definitely want to replace the Springfield with the Remington when you get it, though. That thing's a beast.

6. As for upgrades, you should definitely get the Floodlights ASAP. The game gets super dark at night. Everything else can wait a bit if the RNG is being merciful with you. If you can get your hands on the Springfield and an automatic in short order, assign an assistant, and have a decent firing team (and perhaps a melee team just to be safe) set up, I'd recommend gathering enough time to build a Radio Station. Expect the RNG to kill off your search teams on a regular basis, no matter how well you put them together. Trust me, you're gonna need the extra hands.

After that, I built a Stronger Barrier, but by that time, I'd already had good groove going on: Solid firing and melee squads in place, the aforementioned Springfield and AK-74 combo, and some decent (good enough to get me through, at least) knowledge on how to make these weapons put in work. My barrier took damage only ONCE in the entire time I played this game, and that was before I had a melee team in place. After that, whatever few zombies that made it past me and my firing squad were taken care of before they could leave any scratches on it.

Still, this is also an upgrade you should get. Zombies WILL eventually make it to your barrier. It might not be every battle, but some will manage to weasel their way through every now and then.

As for the Explosives Lab...I believe you can do without it. I didn't make much use of the mines or C4 charges. I'm sure it can help if you're still searching for better weapons or are hurting for extra guns and blades (well, I imagine the Melee team uses blades primarily...) at the barrier, but I don't see it as an essential upgrade. I'm confident that you can skip it with very little to no consequence.

7. Never. EVER. Use the Crossbow. EVER. It's got a Dead By Daylight-type thing going on with its reload, and if you mess it up, it results in the longest reload time in the game. Just stick with the regular Bow until you find something better.

8. If you ever find yourself unsure of which target to shoot first when Zed is all packed together, shoulder to shoulder like a Jethro Tull concert (a cookie to you if you get the reference), there are two variants that you should focus on before you get to the rest: The one in black that runs, and the one in the blue dress. Unless the blue dress zombie is closer, shoot the one in black first. These two are the fastest of them all, but the one in black is faster. It's also the weakest.

And that's everything I can think of for now. Good luck, and have fun! RNG aside, I certainly did.

cant play it it wont work and now im big sad the only thing you can really do is is watch the videos that are made on here and now its sad

all stars from me
