Reviews for "Bosses Forever 2.bro"

Annoyingly addictive! Didnt realise just how many hours I'd spent on this game until I just checked the clock. Personal best is currently lv12 single player and lv19 2 player.

Dont know if its intentional or a bug, but during 2 player mode you can ressurect your dead bro by upgrading his life at the end of each level. I ended playing both characters I'd focus on P1 and allow P2 to die early on, and focus on levelling P2s damage and max health after each boss. Once P1 was starting to struggling and was low on health at the end of a boss, I'd cure P2s HP and resurrect him for the next level.

As I hadnt needed to waste his powerups on curing his HP up until this point he was generally pretty powerful 200+ max HP - 8 damage. Now I'd just alternate between characters upgrading one until the second could barely continue then swapping between them.

TooDX responds:

That's an intentional feature - the idea is that for a 2 player run, we don't want somebody to get left out if they happen to die - if their bro can clear the boss solo, they should be able to come back.

Using it that way is an effective use of the 2 player mechanics on a solo run, although it gives the boss a few things as well!

Nice runs sir!

Was quite entertaining until I hit boss 11, who directly teleported into me on his very first teleport before he'd shown any kind of pattern, doing undodgeable damage. I still had full health by that point so it wasn't game over (I lasted until 17), but that was pretty silly and made me not want to go for a second run. Make the teleport take a little while to fade in so the player can actually dodge it; undodgeable attacks in a game with limited health make for luck-based gameplay.

Other than that hitting one of my pet peeves and soaking the fun out of it for me, everything else was quite well done. Might try the 2-player experience at some point.

TooDX responds:

The teleport pattern generally tends to run to this as an attack - constantly moving dodges it. 17 is a good run sir! Thank you for playing, glad you were enjoying

Pretty fun, i made it to floor 13.....i don't think i'm gonna make it any further, lol

TooDX responds:

Thanks bro! I'm sure you can make it past 13 - just remember, you're un-bro-levable!

I'm pretty sure this would be an awesome game to play, but the controls were wonky, so I tried to fix them and accidentally screwed up; I tried again and completely ruined the control scheme in a way that stopped me from reconfiguring the controls permanently (since the new ruined control scheme skips the control-changing icon every time). It serves me right for messing up the controls, but it would be nice to have the ability to only change individual key strokes one at a time and not in succession. It would be nicer still if there was an option to revert controls to the default. Sorry TooDX, I broke your game with my NG login. :C

TooDX responds:

Update: You can still use the Arrow keys and Enter to get into the controls screen. Use that to start customizing your controls.
oh man paul I'm sorry to hear that. You can give the flash version of the game a shot at our website, or download it - I am curious though, what is your current keybind, where you can't get back to fix it?

This game was... very hard, I only got to the seventh boss, but I can see that it was really well made, especially the design and the music, and also the boss random attackpatern generator, I'm looking forward to see more stuff from you!

TooDX responds:

Thank you Pepe! If the game felt hard to you, it's because you rock! He gets stronger faster if you do well. 7 is a legit first run score - I bet if you play again you can reach the mid-teens easily :).

Nickelpunk did our awesome music (both the main and hidden track) - he's a great guy, you should check out his stuff! I'll let him know you liked the score!
