Reviews for "Motorjoust"

reminds a bit of exitebike

WingDemon responds:

Its supposed to! Read the description for more info! Thanks for playing man!

I like it,but I don't love it. I like the twist on the old school Excitebike, and Joust.. but it's just missing that little something.

WingDemon responds:

I'm sorry it wasn't quite what you expected :( But glad you liked it atleast!

It's hard to recommend a game you have such little comprehension of. I really should have known that this was part of another NG game jam. I didn't understand why there wasn't any sound in it when I played it. I was thinking it was some mistake as there was sound in the cutscenes. It's hard to look for medals when you don't know what any of them are. The graphics weren't terrible, I guess.

I was just looking for something easier to understand. I didn't know how to jump or anything. I imagine you just have to go into the other lane. It's pretty unique, I suppose. I'm not much a fan of the original game.

WingDemon responds:

Well, to answer some of your questions bro, there was music. I guess it didn't work for you for some reason, try checking your flash version and sound settings. The medals are all for doing normal parts of the game so you earn them just by playing the game, we didn't want to force people into certain circumstances (like making them use the editor just to earn a medal) so we made them hidden. And the graphics were an homage to classic NES games like Excitebike and Megaman and stuff.

anyway thanks for trying it out, glad you thought it was unique.

This is a good idea but overall not as fun as excitebike. Controls felt somehow awkward, i can't really describe it :P

WingDemon responds:

haha yeah we've been getting called out for that. rather than faking physics like the real Excitebike we went full modern and implemented Real Physics, so sometimes it feels awk for people used to playing flash games that react instantaneously.

I suppose it was okay. There wasn't much explanation for the bars and whether or not you had enough to beat the enemy, but I eventually figured it out. I don't really understand the ending though. Did the knight turn into a woman? And what was that enemy at the end? It didn't look like he was riding a bike. Was it a robot?

WingDemon responds:

The bars were explained in the Help page, alot of people have been skipping it however.

Well the ending is a reference to the original Metroid ending where Samus is revealed to be a girl. Yes our main character was a lesbian under the armor and her and the princess rode out into the sunset together.

The last opponent was Bones, he was essentially a skeleton hiding inside a large set of magical armor that for all intents and purposes was attached to the bike (which is why only his skeleton flew away after you beat him)

Thanks for playing and congratulations on beating it!
