I was on board with the pitch-black humour and it was interesting to see the different responses to different deaths. Before long, though, I had pretty much experienced them all and I couldn't figure out how to get Complacent; I had been stuck seeing nothing but "Hero ## reached #### before flaunting LEADER's dutiful laws of gravity" for the longest time. The laughs dried up then. I didn't mind the pixel-y style, although it seems like it was only for looks.
The problem is that the game is kind of a grind-fest. The switching was instantaneous, that's true. I had no problems with the switching mechanic, which is a lot to say for the small amount of time you were given to make this. However, the player will end up doing the same grey level over and over, always expecting to beat their best score but none of it really making a difference. This is one of those games that will make you pound your keyboard into oblivion if you play it too long. Play the tutorial, play a couple of rounds and then put it to rest... that's all the enjoyment value to be had in this game. Anything more than ten minutes of playing is probably a waste of time. It doesn't matter how far you get... you still die and nothing interesting happens when you do. It's too bad; I liked the premise at least.
