Reviews for "Misadventure"

This game is a lot of trial and error, but is done in a way where you learn when you fail (eventually). There are some issues, where if you kill something with your sword, you "move" and move through a wall, resulting in getting stuck. I had this issue when killing a "zombie" which was inside a wall which opened up with a switch, but when I killed the zombie, I moved through the wall and became stuck, requiring me to restart the game. In another instance, when I killed the green flying tentacle thing that kills you when the doors on the entrances shut, I "moved" through the wall as well, but thankfully, there is a small gap on the side you can move around to return to the area you are supposed to be.

Absolutely awesome.

Very atmospheric and an original idea, but I gotta also give kudos for really thoughtful game design. The game is hard, but once you figure out how to solve a puzzle, everything is doable without requiring incredible reflexes. And while some of the puzzles need a bit of mind-bending to figure out, the designer left clear clues before each puzzle. For example, blood streaks from the helpless yellow squares in the first spike room subtly explain how that game mechanic works, without spelling anything.

Only the thing in the walls requires skill or luck to pass, and that fits the story well.

If I have to make some criticism, it is that the "real" pictures of the monsters are a bit too simple, but they aren't important to the overall mood, and the designer worked with what they had.

If it wasn't for the overall theme, this would be a really good game. But the theme is *right up my alley* and really effective so 5.5 out of 5 from me.

This game is a brilliant achievement. To make something so frightening using these dated graphics is very impressive.

The game is AMAZING, but there should be some interactions with real life, you should be able to pause the game and look outside, the more lifes you lost, the more warped and chaotic the streets and your house is, because that's what gave the creepy feeling to the game: the universe warp happening around you when you are low in lifes.

If you make a v2 of this game, I will DEFINITELY play it, suggestions for a v2? Make it so the game is longer, max lifes are still 7, but you can find a limited amount of lifes to collect through your journey (like another 7 extra lifes scattered around the game map). And don't forget to give the player the ability to pause the game in the tv and look around, that could be the actual game pause action too (if you wanna take a shit in reaaal life, see my point?). Also, make the reality become even more warped than how it is at the moment, blood in the wall could be just the halfway, make stuff like tentacles coming from behind the tv, and guts leaking from the walls and ceiling.
Again the game is very creative, has a unique story idea implemented into it, and deserves a sequel. Good job buddy!

5/5

full marks for funness.

FOUND GLITCHES~ one time i was hammering my way out of the zombie room and glitched to the outside of the T.V. set and couldn't get back in.
and one time i didn't get the key for the black house but i spawned there anyway and couldn't get out of the door.
