Reviews for "Guild Dungeons 2"

The idea of this game is absolutely fantastic, but there are some serious tweaking issues (as many reviews before me already clearly put forth). For example the beginning (you have no starting resources, just a bunch of silver and population), but also the fact that some buildings require redicoulusly large amounts of lumber which you can only aquire by trading it for even larger amounts of silver.

In the end, the tactic that worked best for me, was to build the maximum number of huts (the population cap raising thing), set the tax rate to low, let the population cap, set the tax rate to medium, let the money flow in, and use that to buy practically everything, because the rest of the buildings gave very little resources/tick. Moreover, doing quests is practically impossible, since my army of 150 men (which costed around 1500 silver, which I think is a considerably investment for new players to the game) was slaugthered even at the quest spot with difficulty FOUR. Only the one with difficulty 2 apparently had no enemies.

So, in conclusion; idea, great, but guys; it needs some serious tweaking.

Hyptosis responds:

Guys, what guys, I'm just one 'guy'.

You start out with a pittance of money. It isn't enough to trade in for anything. You cannot actually build other buildings at the start. The idea of sending troops on 'Quests' would be great, except you start with non-combat troops that can't actually do anything but haul rewards.

The progression is unbalanced, some features are broken, and the game flow is bad.

Crunch the numbers. A tweak here, remove this or that, and the balance can be back in place. Starting with lumber but no cash, for example, or at least hinting at the trade function, great idea. Go through the game yourself, try each and every thing, and notice where things should act differently.

And the flow is a big thing. The 'day' counter, until you get a new round of taxes, is extremely fast, and can be slowed down. However, it needs to have a more significant impact. If you're waiting for enough to start out, something is wrong. If you're waiting for the big-ticket item, that's normal.

You might find the old PC game 'Stronghold' helpful. Give it a try.

I would love to give this game at least three to four stars. The graphics are absolutely superb, and the sound doesn't bother me, even if it's being played on loop for hours. But, I just can't, when the gameplay, the most crucial part, is shattered like this. Patch it up, and we'll see.

VERY cool game BUT if you having trouble you gona trade goods and after then get a suplier

So, let's see.

The beginning doesn't make much sense. It doesn't even give you the proper resources to start building. You have to go buy the other resources you don't have with all that extra silver you have for no reason.

The mid-game sucks because half the resources you need are impossible to get and whoever made it just put random values on the building outputs... So, again, you end up buying all your resources you actually need with the one resources you have way too much of, silver.

And after that? I don't know. I stopped playing after I got the Casino, realized it doesn't even give the +5 gold it claims it does, and that the "Play Slots" option is a complete and utter joke with literally no reason to be in the game. I don't even know why I played that far. It was pretty damn boring and repetitive up to that point and, honestly, the way the game is not very well explained. I must say the 2 minute long ordeal to send out each and every quest was BY FAR the worst part.

Fan of your games and this is badass... but the foundry just screwed u ovrbig time in this one... you HAVE to buy or plunder ur iron.... but it was kwl... how long does it take you to sketch the town?
