Reviews for "Cleansing"

Rampaging through the game, killing everyone and destroying everything in my path was very satisfying. I'd like to be able to destroy even more things, like the street lamps and houses.

I found a couple things extremely frustrating. First, I can cut through humans, slime, and fences like butter, but small bushes and crops stop me in my tracks. Several times I was stuck chasing slime back and forth through a crevice I couldn't enter. Second, the people running around like lunatics, kamikaze-ing into me when I had a slime cornered. It would be nice if they were a little more intelligent and stay out of the way. It was with extreme care and patience that I was able to get through the game without harming anyone, but I can't say that I enjoyed it. This game's better played with reckless abandon. Any hint on the secret medal?

Thanks! The point was to make the game more "fun" with the killing and the destruction... but that's not what you did in the end, is it? :) The secret medal involves trying to do nothing but still getting to the end.

Pretty good, but the villages AI could use some work. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to get to the end without hurting anybody only to have it ruined by one moron who runs away then inexplicably turns around and headbutts you just when you're about to take a bite out of one of the slimes. I thought they were afraid of me, was he just trying to get eaten? I think this game could really benifit from more consitent pattern for villagers so you could try to herd them away from slimes. As it is you can't predict what they're going to do beyond about a second since I did notice they tend to run away from you before charging right back in. I think they might be bouncing off the walls. I do like the concept though, providing a decent challenge while offering a quicker but evil alternative. With just a little polish this could be a really great game.

Awesome game! I must say it gets you thinking if the way you chose to "cleanse" the world was the correct one.

Good game, and I understand that people pretty much have to be able to harbor a slime after they have lost one, but how can someone, while running away and screaming, suddenly become unaware of my presence? Especially because after they become unaware, they keep running and screaming. Or they become unaware when they're standing right next to me. I think the slime should only "infect" people if the person is off screen. Also, how are you supposed to get the "Survivors" medal, if you can't proceed until the weight of the unaware is lifted from the area?

aeveis responds:

Hmm, wow I made this 6 years ago so hard to remember. Let's say fear causes people to make very bad decisions, and making AI was not something I had done a lot at that point in time.

Part of the design was to make the slime very hard to get rid of and a bit hard to see, and also get people to notice that it was there. So if it happened off screen that make it less noticeable.

There's no weight if there's no one unaware (aka dead, it's not an ideal situation).

Thanks for playing!

dang i taught i was gonna make it but eh its an gg
