Reviews for "Donkey Kong Parodies 1"

I'm going to start off by saying I spent a lot of time playing this game on my atomic purple gameboy colour. I like the idea and I think this has potential. I felt the whole thing was really choppy, partly due to how it was broken up into mini-episodes, and just the general overall feel. Take the first scene for example: DK fell off the cliff and Diddy didn't follow him. The joke had a lot of potential, but the long delay just made it .... blegh. Good voice acting and music. As a veteran of this game, I hope your next animation is better.

I have no problem with parodies. There are some that I feel do things very well. The humor was kind of dry. The Kongs being related bit has been done before. If there was a little better lead up, instead of DK just beating his chest, it could have made that part funny. I feel the jokes that were made just didn't quite stack up like they needed too. The use of the sprites, and the animation that was spliced in were well done.

Very cool, DKC was my favorite series growing up! That being said it definitely biased my opinion of the movie. The sprite animation and use of original assets was excellent but the cuts to the other art style were a bit jarring and took me out of comedy. The jokes that were related to the game itself (falling off the cliff, Candy being related, the bee being a jerk) stood out as the finniest by far. Try sticking to the style of DKC and pull your jokes from the frustrations and questions players may of had. I'm looking forward to the next one!

Not as good as I had hoped. The animation was decent, but the jokes, jeez. Old, boring and they dragged on far too long. The delivery of a pun is something that needs consideration, and I think that if you change the jokes and shorten the time to come to the punchline, you improve on what you have. Good luck on the rest of the series, I will definitely check them out.

i like it
