I never got that show either. Especially when the monster-things started fighting each other. I mean, are the tops actually like summoning dragons and lions and shit, or are they just supposed to be metaphors? I also never got how there's like world tournaments on the show. I mean, they're tops, I don't get how they have children travelling around the world fighting other children with tops without adult supervision. I mean, where do the kids sleep? What do they eat? And even if they eat at restaurants and sleep at like motels or something, where do they get the money to pay for it all? Do the tournaments give prize money, or are the kids all just filthy rich? There's a lot of plot holes in animes like that, with kids traveling everywhere without adults fighting other kids who are traveling everywhere without adults, all the while having no real homes or jobs. It's like whenever they win a battle or game or whatever, they somehow end up with a form of prize money. And what happens to a kid who loses all his prize money? Do they get some more cash from their parents, or do they have to get food and shelter with other means, like sleeping in a tent, or eating from an apple tree? And if they can't find apples, or if they don't have a tent or whatever, does that mean that there are a bunch of homeless children who lost a fight/battle/game so many times that they ended up far away from home with no way to contact their parents or someone else? And what if they get lost in the woods, or in a mountain, or God forbid a desert? And what about the wild animals in the area? Do the animals leave humans alone, or are there kids who have been killed by bears or wolves, or got lost in a cave, or died of dehydration or starvation? Do animals eat the bodies, or do people find the bodies? And what do the people when they find a dead kid? Do they leave them there, do they call the cops, do they run away? It all doesn't add up. Shows that have kids traveling around without adult supervision, without places to sleep or constant access to food, shelter, and money, fighting monsters or other people, stuff like that don't make sense.

tl;dr Anime doesn't make sense.
