Reviews for "Santa's "Clause""

At first i was like, yay Christmas Tetris. Then when i found out how to actually play the stacking game i started to really enjoy/hate the game! Lol.

I'll be fair: This isn't really my kind of game. I'm pretty burned out on falling-block games.

That said, I found this game amusing, and it captured about 30 minutes of my time, as opposed to the initial projected 5 (Again, not meant as a pre-judgement, just as I said, I'm burnt out on these games). It would have held me for longer, actually, if you had a free play, un-timed mode available. I really wanted to see how high I could go when not under pressure. As was, I made it to 817.

I get that it's Christmas-themed for both story and because it's being released around that time, but I always felt that making a game Holiday-Themed from the get-go gives its appeal a limp. I don't want to play Christmas games in July, unless it's Christmas in July. That's just personal opinion, I don't think that detracts from gameplay.

I don't quite feel achievements compel someone to play a game unless they unlock things. Then again, this is Newgrounds and even I'm a medal-whore sometimes. I'm only suggesting if you're going to have achievements, then you might want to see about medals.

I hate that funny square present with a triangle on either side. And I refuse to take a 15-second penalty to switch out a present; it's worth it just to throw the present to the void. I DID note that the highest I got was by stacking and balancing a single tower of presents, rather than building a base and working up from there.

Overall, it's nothing too exciting or new, but it's a good time-killer, I think it'd probably sell as a cheap app with a few gameplay additions, but it's a good start. It just probably isn't best to start a game with a time-trial mode and no other available modes.

A nice "Xmas" Version of Tetris. It's a good , challenging twist as you have to also balance the presents as well as fit them neatly, as well as the achievements so you know how good your doing. I would probably add powerups maybe like one that erases a gift, etc. But for a tetris type game it's as decent as it can be.

a little nice

Okay.... I would add chimmneys so people have to put ifts in the right spots and avoid the chimmney.
