Got fed up after dying for the hundredth time due to the controls failing to respond, you should probably look into that, potentially a browser issue?
The controls are very unresponsive, I often found myself dying because the jump button didn't make me jump or I didn't stop moving right even though I took my finger off the right arrow.
I don't think the music entirely fits in with the game. Perhaps some music that sounds like it might actually come from the device shown in the game would have fit in better.
It's also quite unclear how to actually leave, which I suppose is the point, but it would be nice if you could actually figure it out. The room that the 'secret' is in is nicely indicated, but the actual route you have to take can only be found by jumping into walls until you find it.
Other than that, it was a good game, nothing fantastic but it was fun to play.
The twist was... mediocre. I had to play it through twice before I explored the right level, but I figured it out on the same level in the previous play through (before prematurely completing the level)
I think it could be used as a paradigm for a more complex game, after you escape the end should not be so close, you could even find yourself in a more complex video game from which you them must escape again.
It took me 4 runs to find the secret passage to end the game, I spent 5 minutes clicking the a/b/dpad, thinking that's what it meant by outside the box.XD
And the controls are tight.
I wish more games were like this on NG, tower to heaven is my favorite game on NG in this type of retro style.
