Reviews for "Boss Slayer"

I love the retro feel of this game, and how you made it difficult enough that I had to engage myself, but not so difficult I was on the verge of rage quitting. Great designs, and overall a great game.

Really good game but there was nothing that made it unique but it's still a really good time killer

very fun. very cool.

Very good game. It deserves a second game. I liked the upgrading system but it needs more upgrades.
Also is very well balanced so in order to kill the last boss you need all the upgrades. Another thing I would do is to put a button to mute the game.

Story/Plot - 6/10 : Yeeeeaaaaah... As much as I didn't expect anything for an Endurance type of game, I got a NES style-ish plot. Nicely done, short and sweet, as it should've been.
Graphics - 8/10 : Really loved the Polygon style you used for the game. Although it would've been nice if you made the background different, because it kind of clashes with the style your using (It's like a painting, and it doesn't really 'fit' with polygons.), it does it's job: to tell apart from what's hazardous and what's not.
Gameplay - 9/10 : I got really hooked with this. It's Really well thought, and It has more than perfect controls (Both of them are casual and common, so it's not weird to perform any kind of dodge whenever you need.). Honestly, It's kinda weird when the ship isn't upgraded, but that's beyond the point. Once you get acostumed to it, and start upgrading the ship, you won't have much problems with the game as long as you know what you're doing.
Difficulty - 7/10 : Wow, you really tried to make it hard, and you almost succeed. This game is the 'Nintendo Hard' kind of games, but the main problem with the Difficulty is that no matter how far you make it, you can upgrade your ship, which wrecks appart the first bosses difficulty. Only after the first 3 bosses or so, you'll see that the REAL challenge begins, though it may be later foreshadowed by the next bosses until the next upgrade, and so on. It depends, yes or yes, on how well you have prepared yourself. It's possible to beat the game with no upgrades, however it may require lots of patience, lots of skill, and lots of strategy.
Fun - 9/10 : Lacks another way to play it besides difficulty setting, that's a given. But It's entertaining, it's challenging to an extent, and no matter how well your ship's upgraded, you can always try to do some wicked cunning to get through all the crap that's going through the screen. Now that makes you give yourself enough badass points. Besides, you have a 'leaderboard' of some sort, you can always try to beat the other's score.
Music - 7/10 : One short and one big loops... *sigh* And we were doing good... However, this must have one of the most badass loops i've ever heard, and it pumps me up to keep fighting. The main menu/workshop loop tho', is kinda of a Mood slip.

Overrall > 7.50 < Always reminds me of the NES era due to the Semi-Arcade style of gameplay. That, and it's an excellent game. The difficulty has some unnintentional slips due to the Upgrading gimmick, and the music has some moments, but the main show is there.

Tip - Focus onto the ship, and not into the place you shoot. There's no need to look at that. And also, Pay attention to the patter of each boss; Sometimes, you won't need to move besides going left and right.
