I dunno if this is just my problem but the game lagged often thus making it hardly enjoyable. This genre of games has to be smooth and so I stopped playing after the third stage, because it was frustrating. Still, I like the music and the style (dialogues and graphics reminded me of early Sierra games) although I don't like the game itself.
I'll do another review and I won't vote for now, just in case the lag problem is a temporary one.
Okay, so I think I pinned down the problem - that black intro animation causes a lot of lag because of how it is animated (with 640 separate rectangles...heh heh). I cut it down to 160, and plus I clean it from memory right away. This should improve things, I hope.
I have played this before, but for some reason, I didn't review it. Anyway, I thought this was a fairly good game. What kind of weighs it down is high the graphics aren't that good. I do admire the fact that you made a game about inspiration. It seems like I've seen a lot of stuff about that lately. The sounds are pretty cute and it's a nice little premise overall with how adorable it is with the music notes.
I'm not sure if the medals are working properly. Anyway, it's a nice game for a short little run. I can always come back and try again. It's a pretty basic game, in that it follows the formula of most platformers, which are probably my favorite kind of game. It's an interesting little thing to take note of, pardon the pun.

i like this game quite a bit, i think the graphics need an overhaul, and the medal times need to be eased up a little on the later levels. other than that a nice game, its nice to see a decent game on the front page for once, also, the song "caves are deep" is absolutely phenomenal! i cannot stop listening to it!

This was my first full game and my art wasn't particularly, uh, amazing :P, but I thought it was acceptable. Let's hope the game stays visible on NG for a while before it goes to game purgatory! The medal times on the later stages are meant to be quite difficult.
