Reviews for "Beat Universe"

._. When I was reading the title of the game,I thought i will have to beat the universe...

ZEGMAN responds:

Lol

It was a great game hard for those who have those slick mouses and it kinda looks like you got that from a cellphone game believe me it was like that but it was great everything was great so a 4.5 for you

The reviewer below has some good points. The game has solid game play, but the lack of a graphics quality option really lags the game on a lot of machines. But I liked the music, and the concept itself was pretty fun, though I've always had a soft spot for rhythm and beat games. 4/5, 4.5/5 once you add a quality button ;)

ZEGMAN responds:

I did testing on a few machines and didn't notice any slowdown :O
Thanks for the high review :D

Ill be straightforward with this review, I found it lacking originality considering all of the mechanics were obviously from Osu! and the other game others have mentioned.(-1 star) The other problem i had was the fact that even though the mechanics were the same from other games and not done well, like others mentioned the fact that it was very hard to determine when to click for multiple notes because the rings became joined. Now the remaining stars I gave you were for the effort that you put into since you made decently fun tracks(1star), the choice of songs(1star), and the backgrounds which were done really well(1star). Tbh I dont see this flash game getting anywhere since well established games like osu! (which is also free to play) has already expanded to tablets like the ipad and continually increasing their already popular system but im sure it was a good experience to make this and good practice. The only thing from this game you made that could be better than the other games were those very well done animated backgrounds. I personally liked how you added the shooter game background to the first main song of the game. That was pretty much the only true originality i saw from what you made. I hope you continue your endeavor to make games and have fun doing it but please if you are gonna take the mechanics of other games please do your best to make it just as good or even better because if the mechanics are not done correctly overall the game ends up lacking and disappoints the gamer (original idea or not). What's an Osu! also thanks for the review

While the game itself isn't too original, the gameplay was still nice.

Unfortunately, major problems arised that caused me to be unable to play the game in an enjoyable manner.

For one, there is an incredible amount of lag at some points of the song, like when I have to multiple clicks at the exact same spot. When I do this, the game seems to have a tough time registering that I'm clicking it multiple times, and causes me to click more than I actually do. Either that, or the game can't handle the clicking, causing the game to lag behind the song, causing the entire song to go off-sync.

Another problem that arised for me is that occasionally while I'm playing, there would be parts where I would do the hold button, but when I tried to release correctly, it wouldn't register properly that I had already released the button and the game acted as if I kept on holding down the mouse button. This was VERY evident during the tutorial, as I had to do the "hold button" section of the tutorial at LEAST 20 to 30 times.

I feel like this problem could have potentially been avoided if a graphics option was available, and maybe my computer was unable to handle the game at its current graphics setting, but since no option to change the game's graphics exists, I couldn't proceed to do that.

At that point, I was only able to play through about 5 songs before I gave up simply because I was constantly missing over and over again on things that were incredibly easy to do.

Sorry. :(
