Reviews for "Hood Episode 3"

An amazing game... Hyptosis outdid himself this time, even with the expectations build up from the last two Hood games. The little extra details like the flute were pretty cool. Here's hoping the next one will be just as awesome!

Hyptosis responds:

Thanks! That means a lot to me. I really tried to pay attention to small details in this game, I'm really glad someone noticed. ^_^

i really enjoyed this game. i love the series and i think it will go far. that yellow thing really freaked me out though lol

Hyptosis responds:

Haha, sorry, I wanted him to be more eerie than like, jarring. I hope he comes off that way. Like you're being watched rather than something springing up to startle you. I've never like screamers. Cheap tactic in my opinion.

we all fall down

Spooky! Awesome work. BTW the creamy coloured creature that "pops" up says "she lied to us you know" for those who were wondering.

Hyptosis responds:

Have never heard him described as 'creamy' lol! thanks!

Best quote: "Whoa, whoa, now. We don't dig up the dead. Crazy person."

Sad to see the "press space at ANY TIME" thing go, was hoping that would come back later to pass by sound-based enemies (like sirens). Which reminds me, a little more chance of death (leading to "Would you like to try again? Y/N") scenes would fit in well. People (by which I mean I) love collecting death scenes and it adds an element of risk.

Moving on; it was a bit of an anti-climax to have the main aim of the game (in parts 1 and 2) done via cutscene at the start. Oh well... Then, soon after starting, I accidentally opened the tree's rotating puzzle! If I'm not the only one then it's a poorly designed puzzle, though if it is just me then what a fluke! Restarted the game to work it out properly and sadly it killed the music both times I finished it.

This is the first game where I've made a bored stone, probably because by our world's mythology they're meant to be self-bored and I think doing it with (even a rune-covered) drill takes away from the mysticism. Still, guess you're creating your own lore and it's always nice to see ancient mythology referenced.

No voices, some cool spirits but my guy wouldn't comment on them, less NPCs, some other seemingly unused bits of background (I'm not even sure the coin did anything), no comment made on the cave jumper (e.g. "Ahh!"), and I don't find children singing to be creepy, particularly as background music in an inhuman world, sorry. Just seemed out of place. Overall had a lot of potential but didn't hold together as well as part 2 in my eyes.

Still, congrats on main page, I look forward to part 4.
