Reviews for "The Adventures of Zomboy"

It's an interesting game, but I feel that zombie concept has been played off.

this is hard

The hand-painted backgrounds were incredible, the animation smooth, and the writing above par.

Unfortunately the gameplay fell short. The quests' objectives were muddled, and often had no effect on the character, or game. Further, it lacked any sense of adventure. As a sentient zombie I hoped, hunt, or run, or just do anything that made me feel like I crave the flesh of humans. Instead I wandered back and forth around an encampment looking for map pieces that had no baring on the character.
Speaking of character, this too was lacking. Not even the main character has a name, and throughout the twelve quests almost no information is divulged about any of the survivors or zomboy.
When the sequel come make sure to develop the character and make the quest lead into something more than just leaving the current area.

The art is unique and has personality... if only the gameplay pulled off those same qualities. It needs some work on the sound, characters, and quests. In general, there is little creativity in this game. Even the first real quest, finding the key, is pretty generic. I'll still give 2 stars though, because the art is beautiful.

I refuse to finish this game because if I wanted to go around and do tasks for people, I wouldn't be playing games in the first place.
