Reviews for "The Adventures of Zomboy"

The art is unique and has personality... if only the gameplay pulled off those same qualities. It needs some work on the sound, characters, and quests. In general, there is little creativity in this game. Even the first real quest, finding the key, is pretty generic. I'll still give 2 stars though, because the art is beautiful.

Beat the game pretty quick. It was entertaining it was just lacking in several things; for instance the plot was poorly organised, and there was little to no the character development. Also you play as a zombie in this game yet you lack the ability to chow down on some human flesh. Really at the end of this game I felt no accomplishment what so ever. I really liked the hand drawn backgrounds though. My only question is, how did this game end up on the front page.

Interesting story and, repeating what everyone else said, great scenery art. Unfortunately, I think the gameplay could have been much better. The map quest was just a a big pixel hunt and I finally used a walkthrough to find the last piece. And in areas where you need to use an item, rather than choosing to use it through dialogue, I think dragging it onto the screen would have worked better. Many of the quests were either way to easy, or they required you to click on everything to find one item. I liked that Zomboy was not a typical zombie, but the other characters felt a bit flat. This game has a lot of promise, and I hope that the sequel has improved gameplay, so maybe I can give it 4 or 5 stars instead of 3.

Beat the game. However had to look at a walkthrough and this game was pretty boring.

Nice idea, poor execution. The entire journey is boring, no one shows any emotion, looking everywhere for that one item to progress is tiring, and looking again for the next bit is even more so, and there is no real thought put into this. The only good side I have to this is the backgrounds, which do look lovely and they look like there was TIME put into it, unlike everything else. For example, when you click to drag the key around, its fucking gigantic compared to the other items, and keys are supposed to be tiny. All in all, you only get one star for the only bit you spent time on, and nothing else.
