Reviews for "TOME Episode 03"

This series is beginning to get better and better with each episode. It's like you haven't ridden this particular bike in a long time, but I feel you've addressed a lot of opportunities posed in the first two episodes.

First of all, the animation. There's a marked improvement in the "talking avatars" to be seen. I'd caught a glimpse of what you were doing when you posted the snippet of FlameGirl on DA, but seeing it in practice is great. I've noticed that you've also seemed not to rely on those same avatars as heavily, at least during action scenes and places where a pair of talking pictures would poorly convey the situation.

The voice acting has been good since the first episode, and this is no different. The writing has shown a bit of improvement as well, and the fight scenes are a bit faster paced, which was something that definitely needed addressing in the first episode.

I think my only complaint at this point is the depth of characters, but this may be something that simply can't be addressed when you consider the structure of the series. TOME has a LOT of characters, and a LOT of plot to address in the time allotted, so perhaps the concept of giving DemonKing a little more depth may be, while preferred, a bit impractical.

All in all, I think you're taking the series in a good direction, and, as a long time fan of TTA, I think that you're doing a great job so far. Keep it up!

My, oh, my! It's getting better...MUCH better! No longer are the characters so stiff and motionless as they talk, and the sound quality is as clear as it's probably going to get! At this rate, the TOME series is going to blast off as another one of Newgrounds' most cherished series!
This whole aspect of the online game is also a rather interestingly fun idea: chosing your own, extremely specific character powers, looks, and everything else; why hasn't anybody hopped on this idea yet? THAT would be an MMO I'd be willing to play!
The simple little interaction between the girls where they're just sitting at a table having a chat is something I'm hoping to see in an MMO as well. I wish...back in Monster Hunter Tri, when online I would sit my character down at a table and everybody would gather around, and we would just chat about anything on our keyboards...that's something else I'm hoping to see that in an MMO as well; simple social interaction...
Whoops! Side tracked there...um, well the reason I took off a star was due to the whole Demonlord story arc. This hacker would just give up just like that? I mean, college is EXPENSIVE! If the company who hired him was really going to pay him that much, he couldn't have just turned the other cheek just due to a speech from Nylocke: Dragon of Annoying Overacting. Really, pretty weak, Kirb.

Dude, how do you get all these guest stars?!

Anyways, I'm just gonna say that I really am impressed here. I liked the shading you did in the talking sequences as they look really well done and I also like the redone pictures for the sequences as well. I also noticed that you started using more animated scenes in this episode and really nicely done, too.

I also like the way you did the backgrounds. All done with clear effects and good shading, too.

Although the Nylocke gag is starting to get old, I did happen to find the part where the Devil Guy hits his head on the sword was pretty funny as well as the "Oooooo" scene.

I'm noticing with some improvement from you. Keep working on it, dude.

Overall animation is nice to look at, but I think the scriptwriting could use a little work to avoid cliches.

why does nyelock have to yell NYLOCK DRAGON OF so on and so on
