DOWN WITH SOPA!!!

The public has spoken! Whoever wrote this bill needs to be fired immediately for trying to go against the 1st Amendment, or freedom of everything social. Those who actually support the bill don't even go on the internet on a regular basis; they support it because they wouldn't be affected! If the bill were to pass, then this site, Deviantart, Youtube, and all other file sharing sites would be destroyed, ruining any chance of sharing one's opinions and artistic ideas!

I tend to agree with TheRandomDot

I wish NDAA would have gotten this kind of attention. It is now legal for the military to detain, indefinitely and without charge, a natural born US citizen if the executive branch (read FBI, DEA, ATF, CIA, DOJ) deems you a "terrorist." That seems a little more serious than IP laws.

SOPA and PIPA are designed as two-fold attacks. Corporate lobbyists get their way and get control over the internet and the government gets to use SOPA/PIPA as legal precedence when they decide five or more years in the future that they, too, should be able to control the internet when they don't like what's on it. Claiming all the while, "If private, for profit corporations can effectively regulate information on the internet in pursuit of business security, then so much more important for the legislature to be able to regulate information on the internet in pursuit of nation security."
