Reviews for "The Masquerade"

we have all seen it before, frontpage why?!?

this hardly belongs on the front page of anything...its dull and a dime a dozen, its a bland overwrought visual trope thats been beaten to death, its a flash weve all seen half a million times, its like those flashes that star 2 cute things, cute thing b is murdered and cute thing b goes mad and avenges it and we all say "d'awwwww its so meanigfull and deep"
we need to stop and say no...this is nothing new and original
rating something like this well enough to front page it takes valuable space away that could be given to the creative

if you wanna make a social commentary, try and make one that got a little more behind it than a cliche

Pahgawk responds:

Well, I think there is a certain amount of truth behind every cliché. I know that when I was making this movie, I was by no means trying to show how "cute" anything was. I was making it because I wanted to make something that had some meaning to ME. I think you see movies similar to this is because their respective authors also believed that what they were making had meaning. Although this may sound cheesy, I believe that the majority of meaning for my movie came from my own personal catharsis and "road to discovery" as I was making it rather than what other people think of it. I'm sorry you weren't able to empathize with this. That's perfectly understandable. I can't offer up a piece of myself and expect everyone to be able to adopt it as their own. However, I would also hope that people realize that I made this for more than just to use a cliché.
