Reviews for "The Masquerade"

Interesting Concept

The premise of a society that masks the individual's true face and, instead, gives another that can be permanently stigmaed by a wrong choice (or, in this case, unauthorized free thought.) It made me think somewhat.
The visuals were solid and, as said, the concept was novel, but if I had to make one complaint, it would be for the music (and it is only a slight complaint at that.) A bold, piano score might have been a bit more effective with the story and visuals, but hey, that's just my opinion.
At any rate, great submission.

It would be true...

if there wasnt a happy end.

Pahgawk responds:

I guess so. It really depends on the person, I guess. Personally, I'm an optimist, but I also try to be rational, so I sort of compromised by giving the movie an optimistic ending while not actually solving any of the character's problems. But really, the world doesn't seem so bad when you can talk about it with someone who understands you. I feel very sorry for anyone who is stuck all alone in the situation of the boy in this movie, before the last scene.

this reminds me...

Of a book I read called The Cure. The main character wanted to able to take off his mask too.

Ever watch Mawaru Penguin Drum?

This reminds me of the child broiler.

This is a work of pure art and... truth...
