Reviews for "Cuboy: Hot Pants"

simple but fun

this illusion is awesome, its like the screen is constantly being scrolled down... but it actually isnt... omfg. I like the game a lot by the way.

Awesome

It has been awhile since a new "Cuboy" game was made, but it was well worth it. I had no idea you were going to make a game as crazy as this. It was really fun to just go down as fast as you could. At that point, I didn't even care about being burned alive, I just wanted to watch Cuboy jump down. I didn't even know how to get the medals but I got a couple anyway, which is always nice. The graphics are as good as ever.

The funniest part was when Cuboy mocked the player saying he wanted the player to suffer and melt like that. You would think more fourth wall breaking video game characters would do that. I have no clue what the bear costume does, but it's cool. I am still not sure how to avoid being burned when all the blocks are burned. The music is great and exciting.

Love the game but.. GOOD GAWD MAH EYES! BUT I JUST CANT STOP!

Like the title suggests, it will burn you.

Frustrating difficulty, unorthodox controls, and rather un-forseen visual impairments make this game quite a painful experiance. If it weren't for the accursed factor of it being neigh heroine addicting I'd never play it a second time. You heard me, this game is remarkably entertaining once you get everything down. The controls are rather counter-intuative; as usually when we want to take the left path we don't continually press left. But it has to be this way for quick reactions on the later parts of the volcano. And speaking of that, the difficulty there is INSANE! I got 9 steps away from the volcano when I finally had to stop, cry, and write this. I suppose the real problem with this is the style of everything; the cube-like aesthetic is working against itself, meaning that trying to make those lighting fast reactions later on becomes a roll of the dice. I can understand the game being hard to play due to simple chaos on the screen, but when it's simply because by default the level looks and is as confusing as a rubix cube, I just feel ripped off. But I digress, I have to explain the worst part...the eye problems. A few people have probably mentioned this but I have to go into it in detail: after about 3 sessions of playing (assuming you got accustomed to the controls and can make it more than 10 steps etc etc), once you look away your entire room will be disoriented. This is something beyond a simple illusion picture can do. Perhaps the look is to blame again. Pity, as you'll never get used to it.

After this somewhat scathing review, "Why the nine?", you may ask. Why? Because all these faults are - at least mildly - excused due to it's insane addicting factor. This is the kind of game that, though when you're done you'll never want to come back to, if you do play it you get hooked with a real sharp piece of metal. Play at your own risk boys and girls: Hot Pants is for an experienced gamer, with hands - and eyes - of steel.
