Good game, but needs polishing.
This game wasn't really original, but then again, I wasn't really expecting it to be. Mining games have pretty much been done to death. Either way, this game still makes for an effective way to waste a couple of hours. Very similar to Motherload, but with a couple differences. The addition of achievements make this a little harder to put down, but once you get through those, and buy all the upgrades, then there's not really anything left to do, short of strip mining the whole map. I did notice a few things that kinda bothered me though.
1. The game seems kinda imbalanced in the beginning. there is only a sparse bit of coal for the depth you can safely go, and I actually had trips where I spent more on gas than I made.
2. Some of the price jumps for the equipment seem kinda large. There were times where I had to make 15-20 trips just to get my next upgrade.
3. Some of the text in the text boxes ran outside of them, and you couldn't read the entirety of it.
4. The repair kits were more cost effective then going to the mechanic. The kit cost $500 to repair 50%, while, at full upgrades on the armor, the mechanic cost ~$1000 to repair ~60%
5. The true cost of the mechanic is not what it says in the popup window. When it states a cost of $1000, you can expect to pay something more like $1200-$1300. When he states $1200, it's more like $1700.
This game left me with a feeling like there should have been more. An ending, or anything just to give you a feeling of completion would have been nice. In the end though, it's a decent game. Though with no story line, many may find it lacking and unengaging.
