owning gradius, z-type, ikaruga, and the touhou series, and playing many many others, I know my shooters. this is really really REALLY good for a free game, it reminds me of giga wing. My only real problem is the size of the ship, I am not used to having half the screen being a hitbox, but that's just me. the shields were a great choice for that.

I remember playing this kind of games on the cyber when I was a kiddo, and i loved it. But this... this thing you call S.H.M.U.P is... a million TIMES better! simple controls (obviously) great improvements and graphics and stages, not to forget about the action and upgrades, bosses where GRE-... no, wait, AWESOME. Lots of efforts where put into this. really enjoyed it. Peace and love :D
