Reviews for "Checkpoint"

Far from even being decent.

Sure the game kept my attention for 30 minutes, I'll give you that. Yet the lack of polish on the controls is obvious, especially when it comes to wall jumping. It's nearly damn impossible to leap off smaller segments of wall, and I have little to no control in the directory of where I jump when I kick off. This makes some of the easier jump much more difficult, not because of design, but rather because lack of quality, smooth handling controls. The sliding felt dead on, except at times when I got caught in mid animation and the hit box nicked a saw blade. Finally, lack of a continue or level select feature is completely unacceptable.

I did enjoy what I've played, but it still needs a lot of work.

Poorly executed, but decent

This game suffered from a lack of testing and feedback. I gave up on a level where I had to jump through a two-high door - it wasn't even the main challenge of the room, it was just annoying.

The wall jumps are unforgiving (good walljumps let you jump onto a wall on your left, then hold right and jump - this game just breaks you away from the wall the instant you press right).

The comments you receive when you die are inherently a character of the game, but this character remains... uncharacterised. It's an empty and soulless feature that is merely a poorly executed imitation of GLaDOS or some other mildly psychotic overseer.

The difficulty curve didn't exist, there was just a random assortment of levels with a random assortment of mechanics being randomly introduced and removed. The author never really seemed to dig deep and experiment with the mechanics and the levels remained fairly simple and unchallenging. The author probably could have done with having less mechanics, and experimenting with those he had to really see what he could get out of them - instead of giving us a shallow dose of each.

Lackluster

Didn't make enough use of the core mechanic to be anything more than a stock-standard platformer. The concept has been done before and better.

It's a fine game but justa that

I don't get why everyone keeps saying this game is hard as hell, it wasn't that much of a challenge, but the whole dificult part was just because of the fucked up controls, thatpretty much ruin all the fun that you could have with this possibly very good game

game its good but there miner problem

so i like the game but the bad problem is that its bored so the game ain't to hard even for challenge if they fix to alot of challenge then the game will be alot of preview
