Reviews for "Paul & Percy"

I rather like it

I like the game in general

Very good for puzzle lovers

If the controls wherent so confussing i think Paul & Percy would be a game for everyone.

Its original, its a side-scroller(so to speak)

and pretty good, actually. My neck hurt so much i didnt even try the third level. As for the grafics, anybody get reminded of Tarraria? is that what its called? Even the begining menu seemed like that pc game. graffs: 9/10 for cool 8 bit kinda grafics.
gameplay/story: gameplay is puzzle-like and kinda like alot of other NG games. Story is simple, not neccisarily bad, but could use a little more in depth other than tea and biscuits. I also only got to the 3rd level, i remind you. too much effort needed to go on, so i dont know much more. and finally, sci-fi 5th demention= ultimate awesomeness. lol you really can rewind time in the 5th demention. I tried it. whole buncha stephen hawkings shit, 5D. XD and BTW the rewind feature is MUCH APPREACIATED! rewinding a game ( although leaving the difficulty at a minumum ) makes things alot easier on the player. Im sure you guys have something to say to the creator. Use ur mans kizos! XD

Good Game, but my Neck...

Great concept, and very creative, but my neck doesn't appreciate the repetitive side-to-side motion.

I really enjoy these type of puzzle games, especially with the rewind function! Nothing is worse than playing these type of flash games and having to redo a level because you made a little mistake, save that trouble for games with a save function. The levels were fun without being overly complicated, and again if I made a mistake it was only a matter of backing up a turn or two and fixing what went wrong.

Again, I really liked the game, but felt the only thing that held it back was the fact that the visual layout was vertical and on it's side with the ground in the middle (you try finding a way to describe that lol). It's different absolutely, but it's not practical. While being different is great, it needs to be user friendly, and it wasn't. You could have made it so pressing the space bar would rotate the game 180 degrees, and kept the game on a normal viewing level. Having half the map upside down would of been visually interesting enough, and made game play a lot better. As is, I just played until I got sick of tilting my head, not until I got tired of the game, which it should be.

Someone else said this, but I agree 100%. Why make the premise for the game that someone stole their biscuits? I can understand if you're British (Long live the Queen), and you really like biscuits, but it's just being silly for no reason. I'm sure you put a lot of time making this game, so unless you're trying to comment on the fact this project was easy to make and you don't really care about it, then give it a decent prologue. Your time and effort are worth a good story. There is an old Sega Genesis game called The Lost Vikings. It's a great game, has a good story, and one of the best things about it was that throughout the game the characters would talk to each other at the start of each level. Sometimes it was informative, but most of the time it was just random humor, and I think it would be great in a game like this. Two brothers talking about biscuits and tea, working together to finish levels. Banter is great, but they need to have a real reason as to why they put themselves in this situation.

Good game though, looking forward to the next one.

Almost fully realized

This is actually very, very good. The music is charming, the graphics are cute, and the concept, while very similar to ilomilo, is unique enough to stand on its own. However, the gameplay itself lacks in certain ways, which for a puzzle game is insufferable. The controls and unorthodox viewpoint are very confusing. The character movement keys are coordinated to the world, not to the character's viewpoint, so each character has to control oppositely. I personally would've been better able to move around if the arrow keys corresponded to the character (up is always jump, left and right is actually move left and right).
Of course, this could've been avoided altogether and been that much simpler if, instead of the characters being vertical and split across the screen, every time you switched characters it flipped right-side up - horizontally - to each character, a la ilomilo. It's just very confusing to control characters that walk sideways.
Besides that, this is a very good game, with clever puzzles, medal challenges, and multiple paths.
