Reviews for Moby Dick:Ahab's Struggle

Almost perfect

1) If you throw 2 harpoons repeatedly, Moby gets the damage of 1 Harpoon
2) While Moby is attacking or respawning, it's invincible
3) Fix the shadow under Ahab, sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not. I've got paranoid of shadows.
4) Throwing harpoons while jumping would help
5) Maybe making an achievement for harpooning Moby's eye? It's not easy to be done, also not that hard, but it's possible.

I can't believe I would ever go toe to toe with Moby Dick, the deadliest natural monster ever exist perhaps? The track was epic. But sometimes it's too hard to avoid attacks like Siamese water drops (2-3water drops stick together), & water drop follow up by a ram. The plain plank that is in between of the 2 spike planks should be removed or do something about it, it's hard to jump across them, especially when Ahab can jump really really far during Moby's bite chase. Sadly, after you played it once, Moby Dick is predictable. Good enough for 3 day work I guess.

-Water drops
-Jump n Dive
-Bite chase

Thanks for the great review! But to answer your suggestions
1) It actually does hurt Moby, his health bar simply only changes every other hit you land on him.
2) This is true, I wish we would have had time to work on this a bit more.
3) It's there only if Moby is above you, falling down.
4) It's true that that might make the game more fun, however it would also break the game as one could simply stay in the water the whole time without a problem.

Interesting submission

While not the best in the NG Game Jam this time around, it was still good. I guess it doesn't help that this was easily the most difficult of any game I had played so far. What does matter is that it has positive points in terms of the animation as well as the sound. It was pretty satisfying to be able to at least cause some damage to Moby. How wonderful it is people are embracing classic literature in any way they can. You can just keep pressing the attack button to at least get the 10pt medal.

You really know how to create a dark and creepy atmosphere. While it's still pretty cartoony, it's somewhat faithful to the original story. I think I read it, but maybe that was just a movie version I saw. It's good to see how cool those spears look when you throw them everywhere. You should right click and "Play" to go ahead of the opening scene.

Not that good

Facing against Moby Dick is very hard.
The amount of damage that he can do to me is a lot compared to the amount of damage I can deal out for each spear. There's also the fact that you can't jump very fast. Because of this, dodging Moby's jump and dive attacks is harder and sometimes you can't jump over spiked wood.
Though the difficulty is high, the concept is pretty decent.

Nice concept, but the fight is really boring...
Should be faster and more action packed.
