Reviews for "RPG Shooter: Starwish"

Great game.

This game is awesome.
Characters were rather well developed, and graphics were pleasing to the eye.The music was wonderful.

The game had plenty of room for the player to think of various strategies to play the game, which enhances re-playability(after all, there is more than one way to win this game). Not to mention there are,I suppose, various endings, further enhancing re-playability.

Just like what Blackfang2023 had mentioned, the story is what makes the game one of the better games of side scrolling shooters.Of course,it also scores points for how complex the game really is-like stats, upgrades, weapons, etc.

I liked how when the spaceship went up and down the screen, the background and the obstacles seem to move relative to the spaceship's position.

I found the obstacles to be a bit unnerving, though, and perhaps a trifle unrealistic. For example,my projectiles(and the enemy's) were blocked by things like leaves, branches, rocks etc.Personally, when technology is so advanced, such obstacles get blasted out of the way with just a laser beam.
I also found it rather annoying that while some obstacles cannot be shot through, they can be flown through by enemy ships(For example,in Fortress City if I'm not wrong).

Of course, the game is still,in my opinion, perfect in its own right.I enjoyed playing the game and I'm sure you enjoyed making the game as much as I enjoyed playing it.Hope to see more of your work.

Played it out multiple times

I don't really know HOW many ending there are.. but I got 3 different ones. Spent hours and hours on this game! Because it's addicting, cool, awesome, music is great, upgrades are incredible, story and gameplay is perfect really loved the story! :D Controls where easy to understand and use so the game didn't get difficult because the controls are shitty. Love the small dating sim feature in this game, I love Ginny so much <3 And shit... The bosses where fun maps where cool and nice too see. A bit pixelated but for me it boosted the game because I love pixelated shooters!

Not sure if I play this again ... If you consider I played this game for atleast 4 hours ^^ really props for the soundtrack and multiple endings! it caused to me for playing this for eternity. Also If you programmed and build this game alone, I think you got yourself a new fan :3 10/10 5/5 one of the 5 best story shooters on NG for my opinion.

I have less than zero interest in this game's useless platitudes, and the shooter gameplay itself, while UNDENIABLY competent, was boringly average.

The concept for the story was pretty damned cool, though.
And apart from the Skyfish being able to shoot down a capital ship, most of the events in the story made good sense.
That's fucking phenomenal.

The characters were pretty cool, too.
I liked 'em all, especially Neferiti, and Ginny was adorable.
Dedai's ending was the one I picked first time around and the only non-special ending I've gotten, but... dat adorable Ginny, man.

Her adorable-ness alone made me take the trouble to knock down hard mode for the sake of the special ending, so I guess you did a good job with the characterisation.

Have a 5 for the concept, the story and the characters - and have nothing deducted because of the gameplay, since it was well designed enough to be completely inoffensive.

But yeah, no.

Fuck "the message", Deuce should have wished for godhood and remade the universe in his own image, for shits and giggles.

This game is great for a little flash game. The graphics are okay, nothing spectacular, cutscenes have a cutout of your character interacting with other characters, they do change expressions as well. The music is chill and serves well. The shooter/rpg is executed well and you will need to boost your stats if you wish to survive.

I wish that the first screen, when you are allocating your personal stats, did come with a back button, like the module equip screen. I dislike how you cannot sell your old weapons, but the fact that any weapon you pick will be a better version is worth the trade off.

There is a pretty deep story and you have to pay attention to make the right choice at the end. You see everyone's angle and how they view and deal with things. It is nice to see how they react to things and it is funny in most places.

If you get stuck in areas, beef up and try again, also remember each weapon is useful in various situations, learn them and use them to turn the tables on your foes. As for the first screen complaints,I believe it was when the game was not optimized and it was reminiscent of a bullet hell shooter. You can adjust your modules to suit your play style,do not be afraid to try it.

I haven't played this game since I first saw it on Armor Games, but it still feels just as magical as the first time
