Reviews for "The Perfect Fighter"

Nice looking pile of shit.

Really, the game interaction is piss-poor. About only a third of the time, will the game execute special moves, while 2/3 of the time the character makes a single strike and starts walking towards the fucking opponent. Just begging to get creamed. It takes a while to get conditioned to the terrible controls, and the fact that combos are hard to accomplish because one move takes a full second to go off.

I finally beat my first opponent (they can slam you, but there's no instruction on how you can do it? WTF), and while the second stage was loading, it got stuck at 74%. I ended up playing the shitty minigame, ironically I played it longer than the main game that time.

Pressing any key to skip dialogue and all that was annoying. I for one like to read some stuff, and just clicking a few keys and watch everything whiz by really sucked. Should have made it spacebar only or something.

I didn't care for the music or sound effects, had my headset off.

Really, the strategy is to do repetitive movements that the AI can't comprehend. Hold down and leg sweep (3? I think) and you'll win every time. If you try to take on the opponent with strategy and cool moves, you'll end up frustrated that the response is so unsatisfactory. The AI itself sort of bumbles around until you're close enough, which is kind of weird. They don't just go all-out for some reason.

Just tried playing it again, the 3rd opponent loading got stuck at 94%. Ugh, no thanks.

needs more... originality

Every single character was obviously a street fighter character, except they didn't look as good. The controls aren't as bad and unresponsive as other reviewers have complained about, but they aren't stellar either. If you can't do the special movies, then you probably just suck, I had absolutely no trouble pulling them off.

for a while

I enjoyed it for a while until it froze up on me.. could still access the move list but the fighters were unable to move... superlame

Hey I found an infinite combo!

Hold forward and keep pressing weak kick =/
I don't think the game knows what combo's are...
Seriously, this would have been infinitely better if you'd have just made your own sprites rather than rip modded SFIV models.

Has some promise

I don't mind reskinning Street Fighter characters, because you mix up their moves and change things enough that they're unique.

But the hit detection is really wonky ay times. The animations don't seen to have any correlation on what hits and what doesn't, and it seems like I can go from being missed by a move, to being hit, back to being missed and back to hit, all while standing about the same distance.

It's also pretty laggy. Using the supers is difficult because you never know when your moves are going to register. And even if they do, actually hitting them is a matter of pure luck because of the aforementioned range issues.

Finally, I did encounter at least one game-ending glitch, where my character disappeared after a throw.
