I could sit here for hours guessing, and every single time i combine the right things, im just like "lolol wooooow how am i supposed to actually know that?"
not a big fan of guessing how others' minds work in the grand scheme of things...
I loved the first game, but...
The new hint system is very unhelpful.
I liked... I mean LOVED the first game because when I get stuck, I'm pointed in the right direction with the old hint system, and I make progress.
With this new hint system, we're given the outcome, but it leaves us with 130+ elements and we're left clueless on which to put together.
Let's say the hint system asks what to put together to make plasma. here's my train of thought
"Plasma is ionized gas. Let's try energy and air! Damn. Electricity and air? Fuck. Fire and air? ...." And several random guesses later "Fire and energy? Who would have thought?"
Then, the new hint system, it asks me to figure out how to make gold.
"Metal and sun, because gold is a metal that is yellow and prefect like the sun? Nope. Metal with ANYTHING? *130 or so combinations later* nope. Okay, let's try plutonium *130 more combinations later* nope." I scrolled down onto some comments at Kongregate...
It turns out that Cellphone + Apple = GOLD + GOLD + GOLD. What the fuck? Seriously? I don't see a connection between a device for communication, a fruit, and a precious metal. Where's the connection?
Also, I'm currently stuck with the hint system asking me to find the philosopher's stone and a laser.
I've been an FMA fan and when I think of a Philosopher's stone, I think of what the philospher's stone is in that particular anime, and think of it as a dense collection of souls. Obviously that's not the way for me to go since there is no soul element in this game.
"Gold + stone, because the philosopher's stone is a perfect stone where gold represents perfection? Nope. Wizard + Stone, because a wizard could be a philospher? Nope."
How can I figure out how to make a laser, let alone a philosopher's stone if we obviously don't think like each other? This new hint system will bore ourselves to death because not all of us think alike., and we'll be left in the dark trying to make progress with the most unhelpful hint system ever, and some very counter intuitive combinations that not all of us even think of.

In the original one all I got was an orange screen. This one's ok, you just didn't vary at all from Doodle Devil. There's no variation.
