That scared the crap outta me
Excellent work. I'd have to say that the rotting alien was the scariest part though. Not to say that it was bad (it wasn't at all), but I'd recommend that the music didn't stop so early and abruptly, it lost some of it's effect that way. Also, I would try to place more emphasis on the protagonist's unsightly state after reading the black book. Please, do make more of this amazing work if you schedule allows it, this was truly great and near perfect!

You showed a good progression in the man's character, from idle to almost obsessive curiosity. the book and the otherworld were wonderfully lovecraftian, but the part I missed was the cosmic horror, though you did do a nice twist with the man's fate...
Surprising...
It was definatly not the cheesy Indiana Jones type of thing that I was expecting,loved it's chilling,eerie atmosphere,weird storyline and the sketchy graphical style in the begining,and how you handled the twist,with the sudden stop of music and the graphical style change was a big up for this animation,and the creepy old man with white eyes at the end gave me the creeps.Very well put together,worthy of a sequel that would make a little more sense,although Metallica's The Call of Ktulu would have worked much better as a theme song.
