Reviews for "Clarence's Big Chance"

Great game.

This game is probably one of the best games I've ever played on this website. A lot of people are complaining about the length, but I thought the length was a plus because there aren't many games here that have taken me over a day to complete and it was nice to see something lengthy rather than your usual 15-30 minute game. Tons of effort was obviously put in this game, from the music to the level design. Great work.

Got the best ending

I just love the humor and enemies.
The game is long, but hey, not every flash game is built to be finished in one go.

not enough checkpoints

I kept dying... only finished 1 thingymabobber

Nice theme

I like this game for reasons other than the gaming concept.
The humour is great and it's easy to see you weren't trying too hard (or too little), and this is the ONLY game where I find my myself reading every single sign.
The art is cute and funny, and I like the fluid, sensitive movement and jump.
The levels were smartly made and I like how I don't have to repeat the same area twice.
One star off because even though the concept is good, it still gets boring because this game is so long.
Maybe next time things like power-ups? Or even more creative, each "area" (e.g: like the bathroom, attic, parent's room...etc.) has a different type of game play

Excellent platformer/date sim

A zany romp though the world of online stalking. This game has tons of secrets and excellent replay value for the genre. The enemies are funny distorted caricatures of everyday people and things. The only rewards for killing enemies are the slim chance your meaty frame with squeeze their hearts out from their chest and the enemies not bothering you until you walk out of the area and return.

For those who want all the endings, avoid collect date items like clothes and shoes the first playthrough, but be sure to get the blue doors so you can collect them later. After showing up in your birthday suit, you can try the Return to main menu option at the end of the game instead of starting from scratch. This allows you to not have to redo things like talking to everyone in the office and driving your car through the blocks.

The map is sparse on details. It was often quicker to explore randomly than use the map to navigate, but each area is distinct enough to not need strictly need a map. Keep an eye out for paths hidden in plain sight.

Having only 4 life bars can be annoying if you are trying for the no dying achievement, but can be helped by repeatedly walking in and out of doors to kill slow moving enemies and harvest their delicious organs when you are low on health. Also, the ten second rule does not apply to hearts if you are full on health. Save them for later. They will disappear if you leave the room though.
