Great game!
Overall, an extremely well-done platformer, one of the best I've run into on newgrounds, really.
Graphically, it fits well with the 'platformer era' machines, and it fits in with sound quality as well. Control is good, hit detection is good, the challenge is just right (I can't think of any part that was impossible- but more than a few where I was yelling "WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME" at the computer).
there's only a couple things i didn't like (and, yes, I know the first thing is me being stupid, bear with me) one was the 'date', at the end. Not sure why, since I knew going into the game that that's what was at the end.
second, the text-speak crap, during both the boss and options during the date part were... well, bad. With the boss it was kind of unexpected and funny, but when you're struggling to puzzle out what the hell a line of text says, well, it kind of ruins it in my opinion. During the date it was much worse, since a wrong selection there can change the ending.
Overall, though? very solidly a 9/10, probably a 9.5/10 really. The only things I didn't like aren't any flaw in the game, just my own personal preferences, and it's kind of stupid to take points off because I didn't like parts, especially with a game that's as good, overall, as this one.
