Reviews for "infect. evolve. repeat. 2"

not fun

this game was not funny at all. only stressing to keep the viruses away from the white guys. i wish i could say other but im telling the truth. but all people is different and i understand if you like this.

Gawd, there is white cells everywhere

Well, the game need the white cells and the antibiotic clouds, or it would be too easy, right.

But here, right after the campaign (not very difficult, but hey, it's a tutorial, no ?), with the endless mode, you just have tons and tons of those white and blue clouds at the very beginning of the level, and if you're not lucky enough to have your first germ immunised, it's already dead before you can even see a red cell. And at this point of the game, you don't have enough points to be specialized in immunity, or reproduction, or anything; you just don't have the weapons to face THIS HUGE ASSAULT of clouds covering the whole screen and occulting the few red cells. So you try to survive, with one single germ slaloming between white cells, stalling, and not earning points (points needed to evolve). Then, impossible to progress.

This kind of level would be great later. The main problem of the game is not that it is hard, but that it is really hard way too early.

That, plus some lag, and a tiny screen.

I would add something I find confusing: why are the germs even leaving the screen? I mean, we are in a blood vessel, right? So the germs should be hitting the vessel's walls at least on the sides of the screen, instead of disapearing in the infinite void of... of what? Muscles? It just doesn't make sense.

In the end, not a bad idea, not even a bad game, but the points above... So 5, because it's not that bad, but only 5, because it could be really better.

Love the idea

Seems awesome... I enjoy evolution games... Great premise... only issue would be that there isn't enough to do...

Very good start...

Man...

I was a huge fan of the original game. However, this one feel horribly short of what the original created for me... There are three main things that threw me off: the music, the scaling of the screen, and the lack of power-ups.

Firstly, the music was low quality and almost painful to listen to for long periods as you play the game. All that distortion had me focusing so much on this annoying sound going through my head instead of just the game. It's sad since I can remember the music on the original being perfectly fine, or even GOOD.

The screen was way too small. WAY too small. Going back to play the original game, I feel like I have an entire world at my disposal. Here, I have a tiny, tiny window which often times becomes a problem. I have a hard time managing lots of germs, nowhere to maneuver them safely, and FAR too many of them drift off the screen. When the entire point of the level is for me to produce a lot of germs and most of them are being lost due to the screen size, it's not fun at all. In fact it drains my whole experience wholeheartedly. I feel cramped! Fixing this alone would change the game entirely for me and make it a real winner.

Lastly, there is a lack of any power-ups. You can still upgrade in between levels, yes, but during the missions on the original game there were drops of DNA money, bonus upgrades, etc., which were always fun to chase after and to randomly receive. It really helped out sometimes, added a bit of uniqueness to each level since you'd never get the same power ups on the same levels twice. I remember it also being a strategy of mine to purposefully make the level last as long as possible, just to try and find more power-ups. I miss that excitement and reward. So very simple, but you've slashed it completely.

If this game was made by the original author of the first... I almost can't believe it. This feels like a cheap remake. VERY cheap. And I can't help but feel extremely disappointed in all of it.

Sorry to say, but I hope the next game has some more heart put into it.

Another thing that wasn't huge: the spinning red blood cells looked choppy in their animations for me. It may have been just some lag on my part, but it was very annoying to be watching what could be a smooth animation jump around a bit by what looks like shoddy Flash skill.

So, this is a pretty average game. Nothing special.

Ugh.

SERIOUSLY NO MUTE BUTTON? What's going on here? I've looked around. I clicked on every menu. If I can't find it after looking for a few minutes I think it says more about your placement than my own intelligence.

This is not a comment on the talent of the musicians as I'm sure they are all quite good. I simply have no taste for their specific choice of artistry.

Game mechanics seemed good; if not familiar to the last game. Didn't play past first level because I couldn't be bothered to deal with the music. Just being honest; as such I won't criticize the game as I didn't really play it.
