Reviews for "Towncraft"

ideas

it idea is good, you are on to something that can be really good.

One thing that I notice while playing is theres no end. Once you get a good house production up with 4 warriors you can pretty much sit back and let things take its course. The reason I say 4 warriors is you have the code set up to only send a max of 2 "monsters" at a time. Which brings me to my next point, a simple fix would to have triggers where once you hit day 'X' then the number can increase to 3 or 4 or every X amount of days the number of monsters will increase by 2.

The help menu you have is very good for a small game like this.

Sound - For the love of God add a mute button!

The idea when making a game is to find something that keeps you interested for 5 minutes, then expand. I played for a good 30 minutes so you have something just expand it now, ask some of the more experienced developers on ideas and codes to use.

Hope to see an updated version soon

Very interesting.

I had a lot of fun with this game, and the help menu really does do wonders even in its simplicity. However, there are a few things that could make this infinitely better;

-No mountains generated on the map I played, and it seemed kind of small.
-Make the town evolve visually as you add more houses and statues.
-2 max monsters is very easy, adding more as the game goes on would help.
-Whipping the workers didn't make them angry once, so you might want to fix that.
-Let there be an ending, or a goal, even if it is as simple as "Make the Best Town in 100 days".

Other than that, this game was pretty darn fantastic. Adding anything, other than what has been suggested, might just change the game completely. One last suggestion, if you were to make another game in the same style as this...
make the people actually look like people, and expand the map size a lot, while adding plenty of more resources and buildings.

Solid start

Really nice beginning for a game, i think if you flesh it out a little it will be golden. Throw in a defense minigame for the overnight raids, and that would be alot cooler than staring at a little red dude walking into my wall. Just one question, how do you win?

The game had good music and the layout was pretty nice. It proved surprisingly fun, though I realized after I had around 55 people that the game is unwinnable, which was disappointing. I would love a sequel, though I just stumbled upon it and it was made last year. The resource collecting seems well-balanced. Perhaps the sequel could have the builders with their own statistic (right now it is hard to tell how many builders are there) and independent projects as well as missions or fighting other towns. Win a by having 300 people and no enemies/no one else in sight? Maybe that seems a bit too much?

this game graphic is simple but it makes me confused playing the first time.
