Reviews for "Bed and Breakfast 2"

Well ...

The graphics are allright, the music is allright, everything is just ... allright. Sadly, the game doesn't stay entertaining for long. It lacks a proper story or at least some kind of awesome reward. When you start hiring people, the game becomes all about clicking the desk (and the parking lot, which strangely enough is the only thing you can't hire someone to do) ... Also, there is nothing to do after you've purchased everything (which doesn't take nearly long enough).

Where to start...?

This game is somewhat fun, I'll give it that. However, there are many, MANY flaws that cause this game to fall horribly short of being a great game.

1.) Earning Money - This isn't so bad in the beginning because the each tick of money gets counted and they don't stack up. But when you have quite a few upgrades rolling (read max rooms, bar, max tables, etc) the ticks start to bottle neck and form a mile long line. This wouldn't a bad thing... but it is since you have the ticks STOP when the "Level Complete" message appears. When that message pops up, any money that didn't tick is gone and you never get it. This is a HORRIBLE FLAW. Have the game tally everything up behind the scenes and give us a results screen that gives us our total earnings for the day, THEN decide if we get a game over or not.

2.) NPCs - This one isn't so much a problem unless you're talking about the cook and bartender. I've noticed that they are rather slow and that the cook is VERY inefficient. Why can he only cook for one person when you can cook for about 6 people? How does that work? The cook should be able to take at least half of what you can if not exactly the same or even more (given he's dedicated to the job whereas you aren't).

3.) Game Overs - Reasonable up to a certain point, at which your money ticks start to bottleneck (refer to point 1). There really needs to be a results screen between levels to tally everything up. If then the quota isn't reached give us the game over. ALSO with a game over, allow us the option of going back to the store with say... half the money we earned? And try to make improvements to make the quota for the day the player crashed on.

4.) Camera View - I have some complaints about this because it's annoying not being able to see the entire building. At least give us a zoom function or something.

Overall - This game needs some heavy revision to make it better. As it stands now the game is very sub-par with how it works. Please improve this game and I'm sure you'll get much better reviews.

On a side note, was it just me or was there an NPC for everything BUT the parking lot? Maybe I skimmed them too fast, but I didn't see a parking lot NPC. If there isn't one, please add one into the game. If there is one then nevermind.

pfff

Absolute crap. Not only is the game juuust too hard, but when you fail a level te replay button is as good as useless, because you can't visit the shop again.

Speed is important, yes...

But... if speed is so important, why are you only letting one event of profit add up into the total at any one time? Either allow more than one event give you money at one time, or speed up that piece of crap animation which tells you how much you earned. I get a backlog of events thanks to a nearly full restaurant - even though I'm glad I'm getting a lot of meal money, I'm mad because it holds back the money I get from more profitable things like the projection room, the snooker room, or even RENTING ROOMS OUT. This is why we're failing later stages. This is why it's getting a 4. Fix that one thing, and I might consider it being an 8 or 9.

Well Made

The game is really well made but either drop the goal or halt the ridiculous scaling of it. There is a point where the goal scales so greatly that it's impossible to beat it. It goes from around 1,000 needed to 9,000 needed in 3-4 levels and if you spend so much a a single dollar at that point you'll lose. This goes on until you get outpaced by the goal requirement.
