Reviews for "Not Your War"

Not my war

Well, it's a cool game and all, but what the hell is the annoying bar on the right? it doesn't have a function except blocking your movement. I mean you can see enemies spawn at the top inside the bar and they have no prob moving through it. When I maximize the game it just gets to be a bigger bar and a longer area underneath you that is inaccessible. The retarded ass bar on the right is why you get minus 3 points, otherwise it'd be a 10. I can't even understand, I mean it's not like your life meter or weapons appear over there, WHAT THE HELL? It also destroys any immersiveness I felt from the great everything else.

For real though kill that tardbar and give me a little more space to feel like it's not an unfinished flash game.

Also what did your character do? Are you fighting your allies? The story at the begining seems to be missing some shit but I don't take away points for plot holes.

PLyczkowski responds:

No one else is seeing the bar you are talking about. Please upgrade your flash player.

It's okay

The story is fairly weak. What did you do? Who were you at war with? Why would you want to go to the capital of anywhere if you're either the guy who was shooting at them or just betrayed them? Why did you betray them? Etc...

The intro movie was slow moving. Then when you see your guy get in the cockpit, you completely miss the captioning. Again, why does he care to attack whoever he's after?

The game itself is okay. Upgrades could use more flare, variety or levels per type. Of course, you can argue the point of where does he get these upgrades, but I'll leave that alone. I just wouldn't mind seeing tiers of autocannons, higher levels being able to target ships as well as missiles.

The combat is okay. It's mostly circles and the occasional figure eight. The enemies come in predictable formations and waves. The enemy's dependence on largely missiles makes them decidedly vulnerable. If you had just a couple of units use cannons or beam weapons that you can spot before they fire, much better.

For the simple style, you make it work quite well. Much better and more believable than a million flashing lights.

I have no idea what Emzz is talking about with the bar. I only took real notice of the circle, which took me forever to realize was life. I would suggest the upgrade button maybe relocated to be more central, thus noticed earlier on. I give it a 7 to say it's average. A passable game, but has many facets which can be improved upon. Wouldn't mind seeing a sequel or rehash that fleshes it out a bit more.

nice

good game, but a quality toggle switch would've really helped, couldn't finish the game because of major lag. also, an upgrade system wouldn't hurt either, but overall good game if you have a badass computer that never lags, keep it up man.

pretty cool

the graphics are good. like someone else before me had said, there are alot of other games like this, so you should do better than them, i think there shouldve been better kinds of upgrades for weapons, or sumtin, like a force field/shield dont u think? higher health, speed, power, a special beam attack, even changing the shape of the ship into a cooler one

Was fun until there were no upgrades!

Seriously, if there were upgrades 10/10.

PLyczkowski responds:

There are unlocks though, I hope you noticed.
