Reviews for "Dragonclaw vs Evil Ryu"

Hmmm

Frankly, this looks like a highly modded Mugen game(yes, I do realize evilryu is a mugen character, I prefer both him and evil ken xd)
Too little focus on details, like background(e.g. destructable terrain), repeatable sounds, too much focus on 2D, rather than pseudo-3D. In other words, make the camera less static.
Music was fine, but it seems to be just put in there, it doesn't seem to go in sync with the battle.
All those things summed up with unrefined bits of animation here and there make up for an above-average, but still not quite satisfactory score.
Cheers.

A bit plain.

While i'm not a big fan of Dragonclaw you did use him well. The fight as a whole was okay. It just didn't really seem to have any "humph" or "omg" moments. The background was pretty plain and not really anything special to the eye. I understand it was Evil Ryu, but his projectiles didn't have to be that ugly shade of black. It was plain. Attention to detail goes a long way to, for example, when Ryu got hit out of the air by Dragonclaw he just plainly floated down to the ground instead of spinning then slamming to the ground with a bounce. Just some little things for next time. Glad you finally got it posted though. I know you've been working on it for some time. Just don't forget the little details that make the fight unique.

diochi responds:

While I agree that the fireballs could have looked better I thought that making them black with some red would be a better presentation of his dark hado.

in any case I apreciate your review as allways its full of very good points and I'll be sure to remember these tips for my next animation.

it was alright

it was alright. You did good. In future Sprite-Fight movies, I would like to hear some more interesting music to help set the mood for the all the action. Maybe pace some of the actions of the character's a little bit.

The credits just sped by and there was some kinda "in memory of" tag that I missed. Might slow the credit rolls down a touch, especially if you are dedicating it to someone.

diochi responds:

it was in memory of Reuben Kee creator of Dragonclaw

Meh...

Not bad. It wasn't too great or anything but it wasn't bad either. I think I would find more enjoyment in just loading up MUGEN and setting the same characters up to fight in Watch mode. The fight between AIs is a bit more action-packed then this.

diochi responds:

true but i tried doing that with these chars and the fight wasn't as even as i had hoped and wasn't even a minute long.

Meh

Looks like any other one. I'll be neutral on this
