Let me put it this way
Great art, bad design.
It was fantastic to look at, a game you really wanted to enjoy. But you really just couldn't. First off the instructions make no sense until you actually start to die horribly. It probably would have been nice to know the random squiggles corresponded to obstacles ahead of time, making it much more understandable when my instinctively pressing up to jump, and seemingly clearing a 'down' obstacle, failed.
Once that was sorted, it was ok to play... but the levels did get a little long. Unfortunately the fantastic art turned to the dark side for level 2. The first level was alright, as the very light orange obstacles had no shading and stood out from the background. However on the second the obstacles had some shading to them, making them start to blend in with the rest of the hilly mounds behind them. This wasn't toooo bad, until level 3 had the same problem. Level three was so fast, it was difficult to first: Distinguish an obstacle from random background scenery. Second: Determine which obstacle it actually was. And Third: Clear it in time.
This would have been manageable if it weren't for the fact that two of them are nearly identical. It was impossible to discern the difference between the zig zag and the small wavy obstacle when it blended in so well at speed. The only one I could hit with consistency was the "Up" obstacle, but even the down one looked vaguely like a "Left" or "Right". Due to the lenient health I survived despite obviously failing, but it was a hollow victory. I feel like level 3 was difficult for entirely artificial reasons, and not on premise alone.
The art was nice though. But otherwise there were just some really questionable decisions in design.
Oh... and side-note: Declaring your character is part of "The Transparent Towers" was such a hollow dodge... Just a totally shameless cop out. You could have had the foundations for something truly interesting with that premise, in fact I was looking forward to it, but instead you settled for a mediocre avoider game. *tsk tsk* For shame.
