Reviews for "Hiroshima"

Hmm...

Well Hmm... That is a great tribute to all that died, but... I really don't agree to some of the things said in that. Plus some of the facts were wrong. I don't think we need to apologize to them because we didn't start the war. We wouldn't even have been in the war if they hadn't attacked us. Sorry if I'm insencitive but i don't like this movie.

bastards

As a Japanese-American i had to see this. I wosnt sure what this was going to be if it was going to be an offensive for me or to inform people of what happened in Hiroshima. It was an abuse of power to drop a bomb on innocent civilians. This is the same thing that happened to the US on Sep.11. Both killed thousands of innocents except in WWII any person in america who had japanese anyblood in them were put into concentration camps.at the time most farmland was owned by japanese americans and not by americans so many think that the War was just an excuse to put them in the camps. My family memebers were put in concentration camps and they were American citizens. That was bullshit. that just shows you how fucked up America was and may still be. Anyways this movie was not offensive to me it just reminded me how fucked up this world is. bastards

Sucked!

This was so dumb! The United States of America doesn't have to give anyone an appology for the bombing it was justified! If we had to do it again they would! It ended the war! If the war had continued more than 200,000 Japanies would have died! And the United States did not pick Hiroshima becuz they would be able to assess the damage better! They chose it becuase Intel. said there were Milatery Bases there. And there was never any proff that there wasn't! So I believe that this Video did not state the truth it in fact lied and should no longer be shown!

great movie

That was a great movie. With that said let me clear some things up. First off, America did bomb both Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Hiroshima was first, (a reviewer questioned that). Secondly the two atom bombs were named fat boy and thin man, but it's understandable that you confused the name. And thirdly, the American government warn the Japanese government that they were going to deploy a weapon on them that had unconcievable power and urged them to surrender. After not surrendering the USA dropped the bomb. Then we gave the Japanese 3 more days to surrender. After not surrendering we dropped the second one. The bomb may have killed many civilian lives which is still horrible, but by ending the war immediatly it saved 5 times more.

Sad.

I like the movie, it was more compelling than the content that is usually posted here. The snyopsis at the end however, belied your author's comments that you didn't intend to make it political. Also remember that your judging an event by todays standards and preceptions, not by those of the time this event took place. That makes a huge difference. Human tragedy on a grandiose scale is inveitable, and wether that was even an abuse of power is debatable. That said, good work on the movie.
