Hardcore

In a time where you can't play a game without getting achievements thrown at you, finally there's a game where I'll need to grit my teeth and buckle down in order to make some progress. I may not be a 'hardcore' game player (I don't mind achievements thrown at me), the idea of memorizing the sections and skillfully making my way through is very enticing.

Everything in the game is part of the puzzle that makes it work. Having one life means you need to learn the routes; the sound gives it a frantic feel; the moving wall chasing you gives a rush and the stylish pixel graphics remind me of a more simpler time in gaming.

It's not without it's imperfections, though. Although it strongly emulates earlier video games, I shouldn't feel as blocky as I did in those. When jumping and especially climbing on ladders, I sometimes feel I could end up dying through no fault of my own. Apart from that though, it's a really good game.

Awesome platformer

This was a very fun platformer you made,i really loved the level design with it being futuristic yet having a lot of camoflague to it to where you have to really pay attention to your surroundings whether you land on a breakable floor or a solid one and the controls were responsive & solid for the most part,it was very difficult at first but with some practice i did quite well and i found the game pretty addicting too, overall i enjoyed this game very much so keep up the great work.

Awesome, but a little glitchy.

I like the game a lot. It's simple and it's addictive. The pixel graphics are top notch in it, especially the background and foreground work. The gameplay is fairly solid. It runs very fluid. Everything in the level, or sections, seem to have been thoroughly tested to make sure that the character can transgress from platform to platform smoothly and at running speed. The music is adequate, but it's very repetitious. And if it's too loud it hurts my ears with it's throbbing beat.

A few things that could be improved woulds definitely be the music. Other things like climbing the ladder faster, and getting off of it easier, would be a benefit to the gameplay. Also, making the character jumps more consistent is a must. I can't tell you how many times that has messed me up, when I wanted a big jump but got a small jump instead. A pause feature for the game would have been a nice addition to the game.

There were a lot of glitches in the game. This may have been worse on my end due to my older computer not being able to handle the full graphic quality of the game. For me, there was some lag. But often times, I would experience glitches with the jump pads. Like going through them, or receiving there benefits while not being on them, or they just don't work at all. Another common glitch was going through trap doors as soon as I touch them. Can't tell you how annoying that is when it happens. And one time, I experienced a glitch where I was on normal looking platforms, but they had the escalator effect. That was weird.

Anyways, good game. I look forward to the sequel to this.

kickass

i loved this game the music is cool the gameplay is addictive cant wait for the sequel i could probably play this one forever though. maybe put in some sort of rope swing gun for noobs or level checkpoints so i dont have to start over after playing for like 10 minutes and collecting all those crystals and maybe something to spend the crystals on like double jump rocket boots idk just some random ideas.
i did notice a couple glitches one was falling through a jump boost thing that had the purple fall away ground but then if i stayed there i would just bounce back up off of nothing back to the jump boost repeatedly but it would never let me get higher then the boost platform and the second thing i noticed was you can jump over the walls at the top of the screen if there is a platform close to the top it makes it really easy to grab a couple of the giant red crystals

Missing checkpoints!!!

Almost flawless. Playing in the 8-bit era made me tough and stubborn if it comes to hard games. I've played so many games I even cannot count and keep track of it, but some of them have chiseled their self to my mind. I call them great games that everyone should try. I've noticed some years ago that the flash based games started to take the route of "retroism", maybe because the less performance hunger or just for the style only, I don't bother all that matters is I really like it.
When I found your game I got addicted to it immediately. Seeing that the map changes constantly depending on my score made me curious. I wanted to play all the "levels". After some hours spent with it I knew all the beginning and I started to reach higher in score. The only thing I was missing were checkpoints.
I couldn't reach 700 points above and it got me pissed off. I know that reaching 700 points is not that hard, but takes some time and I got one chance. If I stumble upon some obstacle I've never did before I'm literally !@&%ed. The only thing I can do is start all over, spend 10 minutes collecting 700 points and dying again because of the same reason.
I read that you're working on the second version of it. I'd recommend you to make some kind of checkpoints. If you don't plan to change the point system, I say that giving checkpoints around 1000 and 2250 points (assuming that the map continues to harden) would be great, and I'd be awesome if you could implement the above mentioned to the first version as well ;D
