Ok...
The protagonist wasn't that generic, he was just random. That's the opposite of generic. Plus, with a name like "Generic Protagonist #1," you'd think the focus would be on the main protagonist and not the purposely nonsensical story. I don't know if these contradictions were what you were going for or not.
Honestly, going by the name and description, I was expecting a parody of generic protagonists by having one fail at contrived actions in a not-so-contrived world. You almost had that with the Scooby Doo bit, but the protagonist pulled out a gun, which is quite the opposite of what a generic protagonist would have done. Wouldn't it have been more effective had the cupcake pulled out the gun in the chase scene? That would have illustrated even more how generic the protagonist was, and how being generic didn't work in his situation.
If you were going for a parody, then it is a failed attempt. If you were just trolling by making the opposite of whatever expectations would have been...then I guess the joke's on me. The flash still wasn't entertaining either way, which is the most important thing in the end.
