Good theory, Little more substance
Alright so my biggest thing with this game is that you can pretty much beat it using the same action set over and over. As a matter of fact it seems like in later levels when you don't have as much room for error that is in fact the only way to beat it. The mechanics were solid as far as the actual play system goes and the graphics and character designs were classic. Another big problem as has been already mentioned was the text being way to small. As far as breaking up the tediousness towards the late game I would suggest possibly adding in skill tree's, weapon effects and the like. I mean it would be fantastic to be able to spec out to do something diffrent then just barrier, shoot, medic repeat. A minor thing that was more of a disappointment for me then a real annoyance was the fact that the weapons and armor did nothing but change your aesthetics. I went back and did the numbers and it seemed like no matter what weapon i was using i the damage always seemed to be roughly the same. In summary, totally a good game that could have been made awesome by adding just a little more to it. Look forward to some more work form you.
