Bittersweet
Let me begin the review by saying I thought this game was a load of fun. Now, this is, like I said, bittersweet, because I've been a fan of Ge.ne.sis since the first demo came onto the portal. That being said, I really did like the strategy needed for the first Ge.ne.sis, and I would like to see it come back. On the other hand, this departure worked for the series, and I really like it too... So either way, we're going to see a great game go down the drain unless you decide to keep both going. Anyway, let me get to the actual review.
Graphics: You kept the same art style I love from the first game in it, but from an unbiased view, it may not be for everyone.
Sound and music: The same quiet, soothing music from the first, yet slightly more relaxing in this one. It melded well with the fast-paced gameplay.
Gameplay: A great mix of rpg elements with fast-paced, balls-out, side-scrolling, shooting. Completely different from the first, but yet another game where I spent my time saying "Wow, I can't believe I've already blown 3 hours on this game and it's not boring yet."
Story: Still a great story that I find myself eagerly waiting to see the continuation to. Incredibly unique would be my best way of summing it up.
Offtopic: I like the new clothing designs for the characters, but it would be interesting to see Esis in a new outfit as well. Also, I like that even though the game is majorly in to action, you still found the time to place story elements and the humor I really liked from the first game.
Final words: Like I said, I'm torn, because I liked the first one and this one, and I can't decide which one I'd like to stay. Both the first Ge.ne.sis and this one are amazing games and I'd highly recommend anyone, even if they're not fans of the specific genres they are occupying, to at least give them a try.
5/5 10/10 I'll be eagerly awaiting the next entry in this series!
