Cool.
Kinda reminds me of bubble tanks...
Good game
I found one problem with it. It seems too stick when moving. As in if I go to go right, it wont stop going in that direction and when you get control back it doesn't last for long. I was playing level 4 and i had hardly any control, just ended going up and down trying to get back within the play area before getting timed out. Other than that though it is a good game and would be better with the control fix :]
I like it
I like the upgrades and such, though it seems to get maybe a bit easy once you start getting much better weapons, but then again that's how a game should be, you deserve to be overpowered when you've advanced, haha, the only dislike I have with the game is it seems the hitboxes for the enemies (specifically the bigger ones) is kind of..iffy to me. But other than that =) great.
Can't wait for final edition!
Okay, so generally I only look at movies on Newgrounds. And when I play games, I never review them unless they're really horrendous and I want to be a jerk to the author. But since this game has been open in a tab on my laptop for a couple days, and since every minute of spare time I have I spend playing it (yes, it takes precedence over even Youtube) I had to have a say. I'm not sure exactly what it is about this game that draws me in, but I'll try to go over most things.
1: Ridiculous customizable features!
So, I'm not the kind of person to necessarily want these. In Oblivion, I change the race, face, and hair color instead of going over nose width and stuff. The point is that I'd usually rather play the game itself than fiddle with internal features. In this game, it's necessary to switch up weapons and skills on your tank. You can also build your own weapons, which I used to build a high-powered green cannon code-named "AWESOMESAUCE." I found this to be a rewarding addition to my tank. I actually enjoyed adding stuff on almost as much as...
2: Gameplay!
So, in this game you move your tank around and shoot other tanks. Occasionally one of two powerups will drop; health and X2 damage. You get bounties on most enemy tanks and a final monetary reward at the end of each level, with which you build up your tank more. Deceptively simple; endlessly addictive. You found a great formula and by keeping it simple, it sticks to the popular "easy to learn, impossible to master" formula-theory-thing.
3: Replayability!
I considered naming this section 2-subsection-A, but that's kind of overkill. Anyway, one word that comes to mind when thinking of the simple strategy-action style is "repetitive." And it is, but for me that wasn't really a turn off. It's as fun on level 20 as it is on level 2.
4: BAD STUFF (OH NO)
To make it a useful review, I gotta say any problems I found. Mothers, cover your children's ears. There was a major issue with lag even with low quality, but this may have been my laptop's fault. There were some minor bugs like the one mentioned below, where the tank moves continuously in one direction until you shoot. My biggest issue was the fact that when I backed to the sub-main-menu of "SELECT A SLOT" it made it impossible to reenter my account, thus stranding it at level twentysomething and forcing me to start a new one called "Radioface." This will hopefully be fixed in the final version.
5: Conclusion-section?
Oh, grammar. So, this game rocks and I really want you to make the next version so I can annoy my parents some more. It's one of my favorite flash games of all time. You're totally rad! Buy yourself a pizza!
